About You Your contribution: The Manager of Risk Management will handle the comprehensive insurance and risk management programs of Wakefern, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, and financial success of the organization and ensuring the financial protection of the organization through insurance and self-insurance programs. Responsibilities include day to day management of the purchase and maintenance of insurance programs through third party insurers and/or captive insurance company, and the associated relationships with third party service providers including brokers, insurers and TPAs. This leader handles responsibilities of the Risk Management Committee (RMC) and captive board meetings, and prepares loss analyses and insurance budgets. In addition, the manager identifies risk exposures, recommends solutions and promotes practices to prevent, mitigate and reduce risk. This position is located in Edison, NJ. What you will do: Insurance and Captive Programs • Manage all property and casualty insurance and captive insurance programs., • Lead the oversight and handling the risk transfer and funding strategies, including insurance renewals, captive operations and performance improvement of its programs, • Manage Risk Management Committee (RMC) agendas, planning, review, preparation and presentation of materials with internal and external providers., • Handle property and casualty loss control programs, initiatives and activities, across the cooperative in partnership with external services providers and internal stakeholders., • Recommend, help implement and monitor the performance of the risk management, insurance and regulatory practices, policies, and solutions across the enterprise., • Oversee the insurance and captive programs relationship with brokers, insurers, insurance advisors and regulators., • Collaborate with the team and cross divisional teams to identify day to day challenges and opportunities and look for ways to innovate, improve and implement, working holistically., • Lead a team of senior and junior risk analysts, and act as coach, mentor, and advisor., • Educate team on insurance and risk management policies and practices, • Maximize performance across the division for efficiency and effectiveness., • Evaluate team members’ performance and provide ongoing feedback for growth and development. What we’re looking for: • Bachelor’s degree, • Minimum 5-7 years of in-depth insurance property and casualty risk management experience, including corporate insurance procurement, claims management and loss control programs., • Minimum 2-5 years managerial experience, • Certification/Designation such as RIMS-CRMP, ARM and/or CPCU., • Captive management experience preferred., • Enterprise Risk Management experience is a plus., • Origami or other RIMS system experience preferred., • Strong people skills and customer service orientation, with ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships., • Strong, demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively and deliver both informal and formal presentations., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with exceptional ability to multi-task, attend to detail and resolve problems effectively and efficiently, • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and metrics, evaluate information and develop and present a plan to support operations and business strategy, • Proactivity in day to day responsibilities, proceeding with a sense of urgency, • Strong leadership skills and self-awareness, • Ability to engage, inspire and influence others, • Ability to present complex information to associates and stakeholders with varying levels of knowledge, • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, • Willingness to travel to and within our trading area, • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint, • Ability to work a hybrid schedule as established by company (4 days on-site, 1 day remote), • Valid driver’s license How you will succeed: Leadership Competencies • Think Strategically: Create a compelling vision, develop a strategy and empower others to achieve it, • Influence Others: The ability to effectively collaborate, inspire, persuade and align others, • Drive Change: Create the vision and drive the momentum for change, • Talent Planning: Build organizational and associate capability to achieve business goals, • Take Accountability: Drive a culture of ownership throughout the organization, • Inclusive Leadership: Role model inclusive leadership to leverage diversity Core Competencies • Communicate Effectively: Communicates thoughts and ideas in a well-organized manner, encouraging two-way communication., • Build Relationships: Creates cross-functional partnerships through the development and maintenance of constructive and cooperative relationships., • Stay Competitive: Demonstrates a mindset of continuous improvement while exhibiting passion and enthusiasm for their work., • Embrace Change: Looks for new ways of working by supporting advancements in processes and technology., • Develop You: Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities for personal and professional career growth., • Drive for Results: Supports divisional and strategic objectives through achievement of work goals. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is: $140,000 - $170,000 Placement in the range depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography, and budget considerations. Additional experience may warrant additional compensation.
