Job Description Therapist - Counseling Center - 60% Full-Time Summary: The Trauma Therapist position is 60% of a full-time position (21 hours per week) and is a hybrid position with 11 hours onsite and 10 hours remote. Onsite hours include 4 hours every Saturday and one shift from 12:00 to 8:00 during the week. This is an excellent position for clinicians in need of licensing hours and who wish to become experts in several evidence-based treatments for survivors of all ages of interpersonal violence. The Safe Horizon Counseling Center (SHCC) is a New York State-licensed outpatient mental health clinic that specializes, exclusively, in the trauma-focused treatment of child and adult survivors of interpersonal violence and other forms of abuse. SHCC also functions as the mental health “hub” of Safe Horizon, the largest crime victim’s assistance agency in the country. Our main clinic is located at 41 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, and we operate two satellites that are co-located at other Safe Horizon programs. Nearly half of SHCC’s clients are referred by one of Safe Horizon’s vast arrays of programs. The Trauma Therapist will receive paid training and supervision in a variety of evidence-based treatments for trauma survivors, and the client hours meet New York State’s experience requirements for LCSW licensure. As a CCBHC, you will be joining a team comprised of Medical Schedulers, Peer Specialists, Case Managers, CASACS, RNs, PMHNPs, and licensed clinicians, enabling us to address individual needs an offer wraparound service. In this pivotal role you will supervise a team of licensed clinicians deliver high-quality, culturally responsive clinical care, and report to the Clinic Director. You’ll mentor and train clinicians, enhance team performance, and ensure staff feel supported and equipped to provide effective individual and group services. About the Role Charlie Health is looking for a dynamic individual to serve as Clinical Admissions Therapist. The Clinical Admissions Therapist will be responsible for meeting with clients upon admission, building rapport, completing biopsychosocial assessments, and establishing treatment needs. Responsibilities • Demonstrate personable and competent communication skills to develop rapport with clients and referral sources, • Present programming information in a thorough and supportive manner to help clients gain access to care, • Complete virtual biopsychosocial assessments for a wide range of ages, including children, teens, young adults, and adults with various mental health concerns, • Determine appropriateness and fit for virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP) level of care, • Construct provisional mental health diagnoses utilizing DSM-V criteria, • Document client information in accordance with regulatory standards using electronic medical record, • Assign treatment team members and group schedules while informing staff of new admissions, • Interface with Admissions, Verification of Benefits, Utilization Review, and Clinical teams in facilitating intake, • Collaborate with referral sources: hospitals, treatment centers, psychiatrists, therapists, and other behavioral health providers upon admission, • Looking to cover the following shifts to meet the schedules and needs of our clients:, • Mornings and Afternoons - Must be available 11am - 7pm MT, • Afternoons and Evenings - Must be available 12pm - 8pm MT, • Weekends encouraged, • Will consider alternative availability on individual basis, • Work authorized in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Access to reliable technology resources to deliver uninterrupted, confidential, and compliant telehealth services, • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail and quality of careRequirements, • Experience working with a wide range of ages, including children, teens, young adults, and adults preferred, • Experience completing behavioral health assessments and admissions preferred, • Independent licensure in a mental health field required Additional Information Note to Colorado applicants: applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis The expected base pay for this role will be between $60,000 and $75,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location and years of experience.
