ABOUT THE ROLE: The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter is seeking to add a Transportation Coordinator to our Facilities Management Department! In this role, you will coordinate transportation for agency programs while ensuring safe and reliable travel for the people we support. You will design and maintain efficient bus and van routes, supervise and train drivers and monitors, and assist with driving routes when needed. This position requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of transportation safety practices, and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams to ensure transportation runs smoothly and safely. Responsibilities: • Work with the Director of Facilities Management to coordinate all program transportation needs, including creating and maintaining bus and van routes and schedules, • Supervise and train drivers and transportation monitors, • Serve as a liaison between transportation staff and the Director of Facilities Management to address questions, issues, and daily coordination needs, • Fill in and drive bus or van routes when drivers are unavailable, • Train drivers preparing to obtain their CDL license, • Ensure all program transportation vehicles are clean, disinfected, and well maintained both inside and out, • Assist with coordinating transportation services with third-party transportation providers when necessary, • Promote safety and ensure compliance with all agency policies, NYS driving regulations, and transportation safety standards, • Maintain required records and reports related to transportation operationsQualifications:, • High School Diploma or GED, • Valid, clean NYS CDL Class B license with passenger endorsement, • Ability to meet NYS DMV 19-A regulations, including passing the required physical, • Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Ability to work flexible schedules which may include evenings or weekends when necessary This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week. Additional hours and overtime may be required to support agency transportation operations and ensure reliable service for the people we support.
