Cross-Fire & Security Co., an Altus Fire & Life Safety Company, located in Astoria, NY is looking for a Fire Alarm Project Manager to join our team! The Project Manager is responsible for supporting and managing fire alarm/ARCS projects throughout New York City, from work order release through completion and closeout. This role focuses on day-to-day project coordination, scheduling, documentation, and client communication while ensuring compliance with FDNY and NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) requirements. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager works closely with field technicians, service coordinators, clients, and inspectors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with all applicable NYC codes and regulations. We are committed to a holistic approach towards benefits plans and programs that support the mental, physical and financial well-being of our team members.ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Execution • Manage assigned fire alarm service projects including inspections, repairs, violations, system upgrades, and small to mid-size replacements, • Coordinate with sales person and engineering to develop plans, value engineer project, etc…, • Assist in developing project schedules, manpower plans, and material coordination, • Track project progress and report status, risks, and issues to the Senior Project Manager, • Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved scope, schedule, and budget, • Update/manage invoicing, AIAs, etc.., • Work with senior PM to develop and execute project efficiency initiativesFDNY & DOB Coordination, • Assist with FDNY plan submissions, objections, approvals, and acceptance testing, • Coordinate FDNY inspections and service tests with technicians and inspectors, • Support NYC DOB filings, permits, and closeouts using DOB NOW and other required systems, • Track paperwork and follow up/assist with correction of FDNY and DOB violations, • Ensure required documentation is completed and submitted accurately and on timeTechnical Support & Oversight, • Review service documentation, inspection reports, and deficiency lists, • Assist with reviewing drawings, submittals, and as-built documentation, • Coordinate testing of fire alarm systems, including device testing, panel programming support, and system integrations, • Work closely with licensed installers and Certificate of Fitness holders (e.g., S-98), • Track and follow up on filing paperwork, central station paperwork, etcClient & Stakeholder Communication, • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for clients, property managers, and facility teams, • Communicate schedules, access requirements, and service updates clearly and professionally, • Coordinate with general contractors, building engineers, and consultants as needed, • Escalate complex issues or scope changes to the Senior Project ManagerFinancial & Administrative Support, • Assist with tracking project costs, labor hours, and material usage, • Support change order preparation and documentation, • Ensure accurate and timely billing documentation, • Maintain organized project files, reports, and closeout packagesSafety & Compliance, • Ensure work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements, • Verify technicians follow NYC site safety and building requirements, • Participate in safety meetings and jobsite walkthroughs as requiredRequired Skills, • 3–5 years of experience in the fire alarm or life safety industry, • Prior experience coordinating or managing service-based fire alarm projects, • Working knowledge of FDNY requirements and NYC Building Code as they relate to fire alarm systems, • Experience coordinating FDNY inspections and service testing, • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in occupied buildings, • NICET Level II or III – Fire Alarm Systems, • Familiarity with New York City fire code, building code, NFPA-72, and other applicable NYC codes, • Factory training or certifications (Notifier, Simplex, Siemens, Edwards, Bosch, etc.), • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills, • Ability to read and interpret fire alarm drawings and inspection reports, • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up and documentation skills, • Proficiency with Procore, Textura, or other project management applications preferred
