Job Description We are seeking an experienced Offsite Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by performing preliminary eye examinations, diagnostic testing, and assisting with patient care in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent patient communication, and experience with ophthalmic procedures and equipment. Key Responsibilities • Perform preliminary ophthalmic examinations and diagnostic tests, including visual field testing, tonometry, ocular motility, color vision, and pupil assessments., • Obtain patient medical histories and prepare charts for physician review., • Coordinate laboratory tests, ophthalmic imaging, outpatient studies, and surgical appointments., • Educate patients and families on diagnostic procedures and treatment plans., • Calibrate, maintain, clean, and sterilize ophthalmic instruments and equipment., • Assist physicians during minor office procedures, laser treatments, and ophthalmic surgeries., • Maintain examination rooms, ensure adequate supplies, and support efficient patient flow., • Deliver compassionate patient care while maintaining accurate documentation and administrative records. Qualifications • Minimum 3 years of Ophthalmic Technician experience required., • High School Diploma or GED with Ophthalmic Technician or Medical Assistant training., • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification required., • Strong knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic procedures and equipment., • Excellent patient care, communication, organizational, and administrative skills., • BLS from AHA - preferred Important Details: • 13-week contract position (extensions available), • Shift is 8hrs/day (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM), 40 hrs/week, • Location is Brooklyn, NY 11012, • Pay Range for Locals: $38 - $42 per hour, • Pay Range for Travelers: $1,850 - $1,900 per week Call to Action: • Spots Are Filling Quickly — Apply Now!
