Job DescriptionMaintenance Mechanic (Food manufacturing facility) Location: Suffolk County, NY Department: Maintenance Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor Shift: May include regular, off-shift, and weekend coverage We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to support production processes and facility operations through timely repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment modifications. This role plays a key part in ensuring food safety, health and safety compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Planned Maintenance, • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, • Log activities using CMMS and document root causes and countermeasures, • Technical Support & Documentation, • Contribute to procedure development and training programs, • Collaborate on technical projects and improve work order systems, • On-Floor Support, • Provide hands-on support across shifts, • Partner with engineering to implement permanent solutions, • Safety Compliance, • Adhere to safety protocols including PPE and Arc Flash protectionFood Safety & Compliance, • Follow all food safety and quality standards (SQF, HACCP, GMP), • Support continuous improvement of food safety systemsCommunication & Collaboration, • Work closely with plant leadership, engineering, and maintenance teams, • Respond to maintenance requests and contribute to cross-functional solutionsQualifications Success Metrics, • Timely completion of KPIs, • Zero non-conformances in audits, • Accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation, • Consistent training and procedural standardsSupervision & Work Environment, • Exposure to heavy machinery, loud noise, forklift traffic, and extreme heat Pay Details: $36.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
