Job Description Job Title: Shop Helper Job Description The Shop Helper, working on the 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, plays a crucial role in supporting an overhead crane manufacturing environment. The role involves assisting with rigging, crane operation, steel blasting, towing/trailer movement, and general shop tasks. This position requires mechanical aptitude, comfort with hand tools, and the ability to perform physical labor. Responsibilities • Assist with rigging, material movement, steel blasting, and fabrication support., • Operate overhead cranes and tow trailers when needed., • Support technicians with general shop duties., • Maintain a clean, organized shop and storeroom., • Perform basic mechanical tasks using hand tools., • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools., • Ability to assist with rigging and operate overhead cranes., • Comfort with basic fabrication support and steel blasting., • Ability to tow and help move trailers/equipment., • Forklift operation skills., • Physical capability for heavy labor., • Strong work ethic and reliability., • High School Diploma or GED., • Grinding and polishing of metal components., • Tractor trailer handling experience for moving equipment or materials. Work Environment This role is a 2nd shift opportunity from Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, in an open floor fabrication shop environment. The industrial setting provides exposure to large-scale equipment and overhead crane systems. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Tonawanda, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
