Job Description Job Title: Warehouse Associate Job Description The Warehouse Associate picks, packs, and loads products from a secured distribution center onto delivery trucks using a variety of material handling equipment. This role ensures customer orders are accurately assembled, safely loaded, and handled with care while following safety standards and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Responsibilities • Read customer orders, work orders, or shipping orders to determine items that need to be picked and loaded for customers., • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in the correct sequence for loading, using scanners and related technology., • Load products onto delivery trucks in a predetermined order to support efficient delivery and unloading., • Inspect products during picking and loading to ensure items are not damaged and are loaded in a way that allows for easy sorting and selecting upon delivery., • Operate material handling equipment such as order pickers, pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment as needed., • Perform equipment inspections at the beginning of every shift and accurately complete log sheets., • Clean and organize the distribution center at the end of each shift and plug all necessary equipment into charging stations., • Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times and promptly report any violations or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor., • Work collaboratively with a small team to meet productivity and accuracy goals and support colleagues as needed., • Handle general labor tasks related to loading, unloading, packaging, and material handling as assigned., • Use RF scanners and other technology to track inventory, confirm picks, and maintain accurate records., • Perform other related duties as required to support distribution center operations. Essential Skills • Experience with order picking, loading, unloading, packing, and general warehouse labor., • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, and carts., • Proficiency using RF scanners and related warehouse technology to pick, track, and verify orders., • Capability to safely handle and move heavy items, frequently lifting and/or moving 50 pounds or more., • Comfort working in a physically demanding, repetitive role that requires standing, walking, reaching, handling, and sorting for extended periods., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including reading customer orders, work orders, and shipping documents., • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in picking, packing, and loading orders., • Willingness to follow OSHA and company safety standards and report any safety issues promptly., • Ability to work second shift hours with varying end times., • Willingness to complete drug and background checks as part of the hiring process., • Ability to meet productivity and accuracy expectations in a fast-paced environment with deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience operating forklifts, including sit-down forklifts and high lifts., • Experience using stock pickers, order pickers, and wrapping machines., • Previous experience in a distribution center or similar warehouse environment., • Comfort working in small teams of approximately 5–10 people, depending on shift., • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors., • Ability to maintain focus and accuracy in a moderate to high noise environment., • Flexibility to cross-train in different warehouse functions as needed. Work Environment Work takes place in a secured distribution center environment with moderate to high noise levels. The role involves repetitive, physically demanding tasks and requires regular standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, and using hands to handle, feel, sort, and load products. You will frequently lift and move heavy items of 50 pounds or more. At times, you may need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and you will be expected to talk, hear, and communicate effectively with team members. The position also occasionally requires reading a computer monitor, communicating by telephone, writing for short periods, and sorting and filing documents. Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. You will use equipment such as stock pickers, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, two-wheelers, wrapping machines, dollies, carts, high lifts, and order pickers. The work can be fast-paced and sometimes stressful, with stringent deadlines and defined productivity and accuracy standards. You will work on second shift with varying end times, typically as part of a small team of 5–10 people, depending on the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Cheektowaga, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
