Job DescriptionCatbird, a DTC fine jewelry brand, is looking for a Senior QC Assistant to join our team in Brooklyn, NY! We are currently seeking a Senior Quality Control Inspector (Level 2) to join our Quality team. This role reports directly to the Quality Control Supervisor and is responsible for the hands‑on inspection of high‑end fine jewelry, including finished pieces and raw materials such as diamonds, pearls, and gemstones.The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, technically curious, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment. Under limited supervision, this role performs visual and technical inspections of jewelry produced in‑house and by external vendo Key Responsibilities • Provide technical expertise and appropriate industry vocabulary to support and guide cross‑functional partners, including Customer Service, Gold Room, Design & Development, and Production., • Reinforce and manage QC workflow priorities, including floor pickup hours and web delivery schedules, ensuring that stock, bulk production, and special orders are inspected according to due dates and business needs., • Communicate daily with team leads and the Training department regarding jeweler performance, quality trends, and workflow redirection through clear reporting, emails, and Slack communication., • Perform initial inspections of recycled and lab‑grown diamonds submitted by Purchasing using binocular microscopes and precision tools, documenting findings and feedback in Excel reports., • Document inspection results with clear written notes and photographic evidence, entering accurate data into company systems including NetSuite, Piro, and Teamwork., • Execute quality inspections for outsourced vendor production to ensure manufacturing continuity and product excellence. Provide constructive technical feedback, answer vendor questions, and properly route, reject, or release work orders in NetSuite., • Support the training and onboarding of junior QC team members by reinforcing system usage, process steps, inspection standards, and PO creation, helping build confidence and engagement.Our Ideal Candidtate, • Basic to intermediate computer skills required (Excel, internal systems, Slack)., • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver professional, constructive feedback., • Ability to work collaboratively and courteously in a high‑volume, time‑sensitive environment., • Strong attention to detail and ability to make timely inspection decisions., • Willingness to continuously learn and expand technical jewelry knowledge.
