ISAP is an essential part of ERO, providing intensive supervision of individuals in immigration proceedings. The program achieves positive results by combining comprehensive case management with proven supervision technology. In addition, BI maintains an extensive list of community-based partners to provide critical assistance for participants' basic life needs. With consistent positive outcomes, ISAP continues to grow and evolve, serving an ever-increasing number of participants. Responsibilities Summary Provides case management of Intensive Supervision Appearance Program (ISAP) participants from entry to release by administering the program’s policies and procedures as defined by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract. Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Develops, implements, coordinates, reviews and updates case management and individual service plans for ISAP participants in conformance with state and federal regulations and program requirements. Meets with participants face-to-face regularly as required by contractual obligations., • Develops and maintains accurate and complete case records for all ISAP participants from entry to release from ISAP. STATEMENT OF THE POSITION The Community School Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Commonpoint and the Office of Community Schools programming at John Bowne High School in Queens, NY. The Community School Director is on-site at the school 5 days a week, and is responsible for management, integration, and coordination of student and family support services at the school, as well as programming and partnerships. The Community School Director is responsible for arranging, coordinating, and implementing the initiative’s strategies, services, and resources in consultation with the school administration. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Ensure daily activity lesson plans and projects are structured, age-appropriate, and have clear learning goals based on the provided martial and physical activity guide. * Communicate with the Program Director and Center for Martial Arts regarding the calendar of programs, leagues, tournaments, and special events. * Motivate and encourage students to participate in organization-wide Martial activities. * Establish and enforce safety rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible. * Participants should be instructed on the activities' principles, techniques, and safety procedures and shown how to properly use materials and equipment. * Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students. * Evaluate activities to determine if they are producing the desired results. * Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' needs and interests. * Promote and ensure the progressive development of student skills and character development in all youth. * Most New York Edge Martial Specialists are expected to provide support during Academic hours. * Adapt each activity to ensure safe participation in the space provided. REQUIRED SKILLS * Must be knowledgeable and skilled in Martial Arts and have prior experience successfully teaching and instructing youth * Prior experience teaching and instructing youth preferred * Must be able to follow a curriculum * Must be responsible, reliable, and punctual! * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. * May be required to walk up and down stairs. * May have to lift or move objects/materials as needed. * Work is performed mostly within a New York City Public School but may be required to interact with the community at-large during trips or events. QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or Equivalent required; some college preferred * A minimum of one year of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. * A minimum of one year of teaching experience is required. * Must have passion for New York Edge's mission and demonstrated interest in education and youth development. * Candidates qualified to lead instruction in more than one activity are also preferred. WORK SCHEDULE * 9-15 hours per week. * Monday through Friday -- 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm The Martial Arts Specialist will be required to report to the school building and interact with staff, students, parents, and school administration. JOB SUMMARY: The Academy Charter High School Mathematics teacher works to deepen students’ mastery of Mathematics. The teacher is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering instruction to groups of 20-25 students as well as providing remedial math intervention services to smaller groups of students. The teacher will uphold the school’s mission to ensure that all students receive a world-class education. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Teach a standards-based curriculum that ends with the Regents exam., • Develop lesson plans and supplementary materials., • Teach content and skills., • Incorporate the use of technology on an ongoing basis., • Provide interactive and meaningful learning material to students, maintaining positive learning environment for active participation of students, assigning homework, and conduct periodic assessments to measure student growth and progress., • Implement and deliver quality instruction to students and execute the instructional program by demanding higher order thinking activities from students in a progressive manner., • Design the curriculum that challenges the learning ability of students and ensure overall development of language., • Prepare assignments and create innovative methods of teaching as per the students' varying learning style., • Implement effective classroom management skills that builds a classroom culture., • Actively participate in professional development and works collaboratively with colleagues and instructional leaders to improve instructional practices and student learning., • Build meaningful and professional relationships with students and their families., • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the school leadership. Pay Transparency: The salary range for this role is $62,500 - $ 120,000. Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
