Job Description Engineering Test Technician – Aerospace Systems Pay Rate: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour Schedule: Full‑time | 40 hours per week Location: Plainview, NY Industry: Aerospace / Defense Manufacturing Position Overview The Engineering Test Technician is a hands‑on, technical role supporting the testing, troubleshooting, and repair of aerospace electrical systems, including temperature control and deicing units used on aircraft platforms. Approximately 50–75% of the workday will be dedicated to component‑level troubleshooting and testing. This is an excellent opportunity for: • Experienced Electrical Technicians with aerospace or military backgrounds, or Electrical Testing & Troubleshooting • Perform component‑level troubleshooting, testing, and repair of electrical assemblies., • Conduct military‑grade electronics testing using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, function generators, and related equipment., • Troubleshoot electrical circuits supporting temperature control and deicing systems for aerospace applications., • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams., • Accurately complete data sheets, test records, and inspection documentation., • Write and document non‑conformances in accordance with internal and customer requirements., • Work closely with engineers and fellow technicians in a fast‑paced, hands‑on lab environment., • Support testing and development activities tied to aerospace programs., • 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician in:, • Aerospace manufacturing, • Defense industry, • Military service (active duty or reservist), • Less than 3 years of experience combined with:, • Formal military electronics training, OR, • Hands‑on experience using electrical test equipment, including:, • Oscilloscopes, • Digital multimeters, • Power supplies, • Function generators, • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, testing fundamentals, and safety protocols, • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints, • Strong written communication skills for technical documentation, • BSEE or equivalent engineering degree, • Aerospace electronic system experience, • Familiarity with FAA and/or military testing standards, • Experience with component‑level repair, • Engineering‑oriented aerospace manufacturing environment, • Collaborative, hands‑on testing and development culture, • 100% employee‑owned company — profit‑sharing directly tied to company performance, • Long‑standing organization (70+ years in business), • Flexible work schedules, • Annual family events and company picnics, • Transportation support, including:, • Shuttle service to/from nearby train station, • Assistance with commuting and train costs, • Comprehensive benefits including:, • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), • 401(k), • Medical benefits, • Immediate hiring need with strong growth opportunity, • Hands‑on aerospace testing exposure, • Clear technical ladder and long‑term career potential Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
