Job Description Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology Our organization is looking for a full-time Obstetrician-Gynecologist Hospitalist to become a part of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. This role presents a fantastic chance to work in a busy academic inpatient environment that emphasizes labor and delivery, obstetric triage, and inpatient gynecological care, supported by a variety of subspecialty services and a strong educational focus. About the Department Our department offers a comprehensive range of OB-GYN services and consists of: • 30 physicians, both part-time and full-time, • 10 advanced practice providers, • 2 full-time genetic counselors, • 24 residents and 6 fellows across various subspecialties, • 18,000+ outpatient clinic visits annually, • A regional center for perinatal referrals, • Over 2,500 deliveries each year, • A diverse patient demographic, including complex maternal and fetal co-morbidities, • Comprehensive multidisciplinary support, including maternal-fetal medicine, obstetric anesthesia, neonatology, nursing, and ancillary servicesKey Responsibilities, • Deliver comprehensive inpatient obstetrical care, including labor and delivery coverage, • Manage obstetric emergencies and high-risk pregnancies in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, • Provide inpatient gynecological consultations and urgent/emergent gynecological care as needed, • Supervise and educate OB-GYN residents and medical students on Labor & Delivery and inpatient services, • Engage in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and protocol development, • Facilitate continuity of care through collaboration with outpatient providersSchedule & Call Structure, • Hospitalist role with a shift-based model consisting of 7-24 hour shifts monthly (can be completed as 24-hour shifts or split into day and night shifts), • No outpatient clinic responsibilities, • Coverage includes day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of a shared scheduleAcademic Responsibilities, • Actively participate in the education of residents and medical students, • Engage in simulation training and interdisciplinary teaching, • Opportunities for involvement in quality improvement, education, and clinical research, • Academic appointment with rank based on experienceQualifications, • MD or DO from an accredited medical institution, • Eligible for or currently licensed in New York State, • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology; board certification preferred, • Strong clinical skills in inpatient obstetrics and management of obstetric emergencies, • Dedication to patient-centered, evidence-based care, • Able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented academic setting, • Interest in teaching, academic medicine, and quality improvement initiativesWhat We Offer, • Competitive guaranteed salary with performance-based incentives, • Academic appointment and opportunities for career progression, • A collaborative atmosphere within a respected academic health system, • Chance to develop an academic OBGYN Hospitalist programBenefits We provide a highly competitive benefits package, which includes: • Base salary range of $300,000-$350,000 based on academic rank, with additional incentive bonuses, • Generous sign-on bonus to welcome you to our team, • Relocation assistance to facilitate your move, • Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision), • Generous paid time off and holiday schedule, • Retirement plan plus a 403(b), • Annual CME allowance and dedicated CME time, • Occurrence-based malpractice coverage, • Employee wellness programs and mental health support Our organization is a cornerstone of medicine, research, and medical education in the Capital Region of New York and stands as the largest private employer in the area, with over 10,000 employees.
