Job DescriptionDirect Counsel is seeking a Discovery Litigation Associate Attorney to join a growing, collaborative litigation team. Location(s): Boston (MA); Greenwich, Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, West Hartford (CT); Parsippany (NJ) About the Role This position is ideal for an associate attorney with at least 4 years of eDiscovery experience, including discovery project management and strategy, who is looking to work in a sophisticated, team-oriented environment. This is a non-partnership track role offering exposure to high-volume and complex discovery matters across multiple industries. Key Responsibilities * Oversee all aspects of the discovery process, including document collection, review, production, and vendor management. * Develop and implement efficient, cost-effective eDiscovery and compliance strategies. * Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and external vendors to ensure smooth discovery operations. * Leverage technology and AI tools to manage large data volumes throughout the discovery lifecycle. * Draft and respond to discovery-related documents, including objections, motions, and production specifications. * Provide guidance and training to junior attorneys, contract attorneys, and staff. * Stay current on legal and regulatory developments affecting eDiscovery, data privacy, and information governance. Qualifications * J.D. and bar admission in good standing in the applicable jurisdiction. * Minimum 4 years of experience in eDiscovery, preferably in a law firm setting. * Proven ability to manage large-scale discovery projects and teams. * Proficiency with eDiscovery software (e.g., Relativity, Concordance). * Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Compensation The expected annual salary range is $155,000–$165,000, depending on experience, skills, and location. The position offers a hybrid in-office/remote schedule and a comprehensive benefits package.
