Job DescriptionSenior Financial Analyst (Hybrid - Contract) New York, NY $38.00 - $43.75/hour (based on experience) Hybrid: In-office Monday-Thursday; Fridays remote (with potential flexibility) About the Role We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for financial analysis and reporting across multiple areas, as well as producing high-quality strategic analysis to support decision-making across the division. This includes, but is not limited to, ongoing cost analysis, gathering and analyzing data for budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans, owning specific cross-team analysis and reporting processes (related to headcount, T&E, etc.), and working on ad hoc projects to drive business performance. The Senior Financial Analyst provides a supporting role to leadership on all aspects of financial reporting and planning, as well as operational support to editorial partners. Working within a fast-paced environment, this position offers the opportunity to engage in a variety of finance-related disciplines, helping business partners run operations efficiently and enabling production teams to deliver effectively. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Planning • Assist in quarterly close process: reclassifications, accrual preparations, in-depth variance analysis, commentary, and financial reporting for presentation to business partners, • Assist with preparation of long-range plans, annual budgets, and forecasts: analyze expense trends, build detailed budgets, estimate risks and opportunities, input data into financial systems, and present to management, • Provide financial analyses to business partners, enabling editorial and operations management to implement cost-saving recommendations (including trends, modeling, scenario planning, and quarterly results)Business Planning & Decision Support, • Develop and enhance reporting tools and dashboards to analyze spending, identify cost efficiencies, lead process improvements, and track progress, • Coordinate with production teams to track, monitor, and analyze costs, • Monitor utilization of freelance contractors, • Partner with finance teams to improve processes across the organization, • Support ad hoc projects, including new strategic initiatives, programming changes, and other business processesAdditional Role Details, • Two major components include:, • Cost reports updated weekly and pulled from financial systems, • Journal entries and movement of funds between projects, • Strong Excel experience required, • Must be able to communicate effectively with various production teams, • Involvement in forecasting and analysis for ad hoc projects and business needsBasic Qualifications, • 2 or more years of relevant work experience in financial reporting and analysis, forecasting, or business operations support, • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, • Advanced Excel skills and modeling (including macros and spreadsheet expertise), • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and deliverable-focused, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships across all levels of management, • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities, • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervisionPreferred Qualifications, • Prior experience in media, television, or broadcast industry, • Experience with financial systems such as SAP, Cognos, or TM1 is a plusPay Details: $38.00 to $47.35 per hour Search managed by: Riley Grubbs Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
