Job Description Job Description The role is responsible for providing frontline technical support to internal end users, ensuring continuity of services within a regulated biorepository and laboratory environment. Responsibilities • Serve as the primary technical owner of infrastructure platforms including Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, VMware vSphere, AWS cloud workloads (EC2, RDS, IAM), and enterprise storage (PowerScale, FlashBladeE)., • Proactively maintain, improve, and optimize infrastructure for performance, security, and scalability., • Lead the planning and execution of upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management activities., • Ensure systems meet all applicable security and regulatory standards (HIPAA, FDA, FISMA/NIST, GDPR) through hardening, access controls, and patch management., • Provide expert-level troubleshooting across infrastructure layers (compute, storage, network, cloud)., • Support and enhance backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes., • Leverage PowerShell (required) and other scripting tools to automate administration and improve efficiency., • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for systems, processes, and compliance requirements., • Collaborate effectively with internal IT, MSP partners, and business stakeholders to ensure infrastructure services meet organizational needs., • Be an effective team player, with behaviors reflecting the Sampled Values:Strive to delight our clients, Move innovation forward, Accelerate your business, Rise together as a team, Transcend what is possible., • Perform related responsibilities as needed POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field., • Experience in a regulated environment, • 10+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering or systems administration roles with demonstrable ownership of enterprise systems. Expert-level proficiency in: • Windows Server administration and troubleshooting, • Active Directory (design, security, GPO management), • Office 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Azure AD), • VMware vSphere (design, administration, troubleshooting), • Strong experience managing AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, IAM, VPC networking). Work Environment The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a standard schedule and no travel requirements. The role is 100% onsite in Piscataway, with limited remote flexibility for illness or extenuating circumstances. Occasional off-hours support may be needed for critical needs, and weekend work is very rare, reserved for special projects. The team consists of three people. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Piscataway, New Jersey. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $57.00/hr. Job Description Make the Road States (MRstates) is the national home for the second-generation Make the Road family of organizations in Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Nevada, this in addition to New York, that serves to uplift the voices of working-class, immigrants, women, LGBTQIA people, and people of color across the Make the Roads umbrella. From an operational spectrum it serves as the Finance and Human Resources Compliance Officers for the umbrella at large. Make the Road New Jersey (MRNJ) builds the power of immigrant and working-class communities to achieve dignity and respect through community organizing, the provision of high quality legal and support services, transformative education, and policy innovation. MRNJ is a project of Make the Road States. Founded in 2014, MRNJ operates centers and organizing hubs in the cities of Elizabeth, Passaic, Perth Amboy, and Newark, that reach thousands of immigrants and working-class people of color each year. Our member-led organizing committees -- which work on the issues named above-- implement strategies to combat shared problems and develop leadership and the capacity for civic participation. In the past four years, MRNJ has won more than 10 pro-immigrant and pro-worker policies, including the nation’s first guaranteed severance law, landmark anti-wage theft legislation, occupational and drivers’ license for undocumented immigrants and a $15 minimum wage. Current Opening: The immigration staff attorney will provide legal representation on a wide range of immigration matters both before the Executive Office of Immigration Review (“EOIR”) and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”). The staff attorney provides legal support for active MRNJ campaigns. The position will be partially remote with work conducted in one of our offices in Elizabeth, Passaic or Perth Amboy. This position is included in a Union-represented collective bargaining unit, and specific employment terms and conditions are subject to collective bargaining. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Conduct initial consultations and intake appointments with clients, performing legal analysis of facts, making determinations on when to retain clients for representation, and maintaining client contact with active clients and other parties. Counsel clients on risks and benefits of various case strategies; * Translate documents or secure translations as necessary, and secure interpretation assistance, as necessary; * Work with MRNJ’s Social Worker to meet clients’ social service needs; * Participate in community outreach and educational activities, including Know-Your-Rights workshops and citizenship and other legal clinics; * Represent MRNJ on panels, at conferences, and at events, as the need arises; * Provide policy support and legal advice to MRNJ’s community organizing campaigns including drafting legislation, creating one-pagers for organizing and community, drafting memos of support or opposition, coordinating with coalitions, legal research and drafting for impact litigation, advocating for legislation with elected officials. * Participate in some organizing and organization-wide events; * Participate in team and department meetings and assist with grant reports; * Participate in ongoing CLE and other trainings related to areas of immigration law; * Apply movement lawyering principles and other critical concepts that underscore our organizational approach to building power, such as racialized capitalism. Requirements: * Eligibile to work in the US; * At least 2 years of immigration legal practice experience, which may include clinic and/or legal internships; * Membership in good standing in the bar of New Jersey; * J.D from an accredited university; * Proficiency (fluency preferred) in Spanish; * Demonstrated commitment to social, racial and economic justice and community lawyering, and an understanding of the challenges facing low-wage workers, immigrant communities, and communities of color; * Interest in supporting community organizing, campaigns, and policy and advocacy initiatives; * Desire to work collaboratively; * Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events and meetings, as needed. Job Description The Help Desk Technician is responsible for the deployment and support of IS technologies and infrastructure. Along with the daily support of trouble tickets, the Help Desk Technician will be responsible for the support of specific technologies within the areas of hardware, software, and networking. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve malfunctions and make the appropriate recommendations to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. Essential Job Functions: • Field incoming help requests from end users via help desk system, telephone, e-mail, and chat in a courteous manner., • Provides support to install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, and cabling., • Assists in the analysis and development of new processes and supporting documentation. Keeps existing documents up to date., • Create, configure, or remove access/hardware for multiple users on an ongoing basis., • Works on yearly projects as assigned by management, including hardware/software upgrades, migrations, efficiencies, security, and business objectives., • Perform on-site/remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution to workstation problems. Minimum Qualkifications: • 2+ years expereince as a Help Desk Technician, • Associates Degree preferred or combination of work experience and college, • Followership: Knowledge of and ability to carry out strategies, tasks, and procedures that support the business and audit requirements., • PC/Workstation Software: Knowledge of and the ability to manage the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of PC or workstation software for end-users., • LAN Administration: Knowledge of LAN tools and software programs, and the ability to use administrative systems and procedures for the local area network and associated network services., • Help Desk: Knowledge of and the ability to resolve and prioritize computer/software related issues received from employees within an organization appropriately and efficiently., • Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques, and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.
