Job Description Position Title: Child Nutrition Hunger Outreach Program Specialist Location: Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK Supervisor: Child Nutrition Outreach Program Manager Status: Full-time, Exempt Salary Range: $50,500 - $60,000 OVERVIEW Hunger Free Oklahoma is seeking a full-time Child Nutrition Hunger Outreach Program Specialist to support our Federal Child Nutrition Program outreach and implementation across Oklahoma – including, but not limited to, Afterschool Meals, Summer Meals, School Breakfast and Lunch, WIC. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about working collaboratively with stakeholders and providing support through outreach, technical assistance, convening, research, and guidance. They are an effective verbal and visual communicator, facilitator, trainer, and presenter and prioritize excellent customer service. They engage in collaborative decision making to provide thoughtful, dynamic, and creative solutions. WHO WE ARE Hunger Free Oklahoma is a statewide nonprofit established to leverage the power of collaboration to solve hunger in Oklahoma by improving systems, policies, and practices, facilitating public/private partnerships, and providing backbone support to existing organizations addressing hunger. Hunger Free Oklahoma’s primary focus is to collaboratively work with community-based organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders who directly serve individuals. We provide support through technical assistance, convening, research, and policy guidance to nonprofits, governments, and other stakeholders statewide. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING The Child Nutrition Hunger Outreach Program Specialist reports to the Child Nutrition Hunger Outreach Program Manager. The role will evolve over time, but the core of your work will be: • Expanding Federal Child Nutrition Programs: Build working knowledge of federal child nutrition programs; develop and implement outreach, communication, training, and technical assistance strategies; increase program awareness, access, and participation, • Building Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate strong relationships, networks, and strategic partnerships across the state; serve as a resource, connector and facilitator, • Developing Resources: Utilize research, best practices, and data to inform strategy and development of new resources and support tools; collect data and feedback to inform program improvements, • Managing Projects and Implementing Workflows: Provide coordination and operational support, maintain project documentation and tools; utilize available tools to track and meet project timelines and deliverables; support projects and project stakeholders; support continuous learning and improvement and implementation of project plans; track child nutrition partner engagement and services delivered, • Have a high school diploma or equivalent and have 4-6 or more combined years of post-secondary education and/or work experience in a relevant field, • Have experience in child nutrition programs, community partnerships, program coordination, or a related field, • Bring strong communication, relationship-building, presenting, and facilitation skills, • Be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable in developing and improving workflows, • Demonstrate the ability to collect and apply best practices, build subject matter expertise and support both internal teams and external partners, • Be proficient in MS Office Suite and comfortable using tools like Salesforce, Planner, and other program-management platforms, • Experience performing needs assessments (3 years or more, strongly preferred), • Passionate Engager: You embrace and promote HFO’s mission and values and can communicate to a broad audience how hunger impacts their work to get them excited about addressing it., • Committed Learner: You are committed to curiosity and learning new skills and knowledge on a continual basis. People who work with you comment on your quality and timely customer service and problem-solving approach. This position is full-time and based in Oklahoma City or Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role requires the ability to independently travel to sites across the state for up to 25% of working time and may require occasional evening and weekend work to support events and programming. This position requires the ability to perform medium physical effort consisting of occasionally handling, lifting, or moving objects 20-30 pounds for handling resources and supplies, and to sit or stand to complete office-oriented work an average of 8 hours a day.
