American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Colorado Springs, Colorado. • Specialty: Med Surg, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position serving a wide range of adult patient populations and requiring flexibility across multiple hospital units within the Colorado Springs area. • Work in an acute care hospital setting within a Med/Surg and Telemetry Float Pool, • Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, rehab, renal, bariatrics, trauma, ED observation, and post-surgical needs, • Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:5-6 based on acuity, • Required to float between multiple units across facilities within Zone 1 (up to a 60-mile radius from Colorado Springs city center), • Night shifts with 12-hour shift lengths, • Schedule includes 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule, • Use of Epic EMR system, • Designated charge nurses on each unit; nurse aides present, • Use of respiratory equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP may be required, • Heparin infusion titration expected as part of patient care, • Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse adult and geriatric patient population across multiple specialties, • Must be flexible to float across a variety of units including higher and lower acuity as needed, • All requested time off must be submitted before assignment begins, • Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor and additional remote modules as required, • Any color scrubs are acceptable for this position, • Expect potential assignment to holiday coverage if needed, • Travelers are responsible for securing housing that enables them to float throughout the required 60-mile radius, • May rarely be placed on call for low census, • Returning employees must not have worked for CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year, • Active CO or Compact (NLC) RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required, • Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required, • Prior neuro experience preferred, • Experience with Epic EMR preferred, • Copy of driver's license required for consideration, • Must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the city center of Colorado Springs, • Two professional references: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire, • Must have ability to float to all assigned facilities within the designated zone, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-645409.
