Job DescriptionFurientis is building a new class of defensive interceptor missile for the United States and its allies. We design, build, and produce these systems end-to-end, from physics through manufacturing, at production rates legacy primes cannot match and at a fraction of the cost. We recruit engineers who internalize the warfighter's problems and bring deep mastery of the relevant technologies, without the institutional inertia that has slowed the legacy primes. About the Team Vehicle Engineering owns the missile as a physical object from design through flight: structures, mechanical integration of the full subsystem stack, and the build. About the Role We are looking for a generalist technician who can build, fabricate, and integrate hardware across vehicle engineering and the factory floor, with regular hands-on support to propulsion. You will work alongside the mechanical, vehicle, and propulsion engineers from clean-sheet prototype through ground test and flight. This is not a production-line role. You will fabricate one-off parts, build fixtures and ground support equipment, lay up composite structures, plumb test stands, and stand up new processes as we go. What You'll Do • Build, integrate, and rework airframe and vehicle structures across the F0-series fleet., • Operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, and basic fabrication equipment to make one-off parts and fixtures., • Weld and sheet-metal-form ground support equipment, test stand structures, and vehicle components., • Fabricate composite structures: layup, vacuum bag, trim, and bonded assembly., • Build and plumb fluid and pressurization systems for ground test and vehicle support., • Support solid rocket motor build operations alongside the manufacturing engineer: case prep, inert hardware assembly, fixture build, and Mojave site work., • Set up, instrument, and tear down ground test articles., • Run shop discipline: 5S, traceability, FOD control.Skills We're Hiring For, • Strong machining skills. Manual mill and lathe at minimum, CNC familiarity preferred., • Welding fluency in TIG and MIG across steel and aluminum., • Sheet metal fabrication: shear, brake, forming, riveting., • Hands-on composite layup and secondary bonding., • Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and GD&T basics., • Solid mechanical assembly discipline: torque procedures, fastener selection, fit and clearance feel., • Able to work independently in a small shop without production-engineering hand-holding.Bonus Points For, • Hands-on rocket, missile, UAV, or experimental aircraft build experience., • Experience with energetic or hazardous material handling., • Pressure system or cryogenic plumbing experience., • AWS D17.1 or equivalent aerospace welding certification., • CNC programming or CAM experience., • Forklift, manlift, or crane operation certifications., • Stood up a shop or test site from a clean sheet., • Hobbyist build background (high-power rocketry, race vehicles, custom motorcycles, machinist hobbyist). Eligibility & Logistics Location: On-site at our Los Angeles, CA HQ; remote work is not available. Monthly weekend travel for test events and supplier engagements. Clearance: Must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain a U.S. SECRET security clearance. Active clearance is not required at hire; we will sponsor.
