Job Description Business Development Manager - Data Center Mechanical / Modular - Denver, CO This client is a leading OEM in the mission-critical data center industry. They provide modular and mechanical data center solutions through custom-fit projects to meet the requirements of their client's mission-critical facilities. They provide this expertise in the Mechanical / Modular / Pre-fab space in the Data Center / Critical Facilities Space with the mindset to provide reliability, energy efficiency, and sustainability. They provide these services for Enterprise Data Center Customers, the Colo Market and for Hyperscale companies. We are searching for a Business Development Manager for their Modular and Mechanical Data Center Practice in the Denver, CO area. This position will oversee and expand client relationships, manage and develop sales pipelines, and drive project pursuits within a defined territory. This position involves representing the company at industry events, preparing proposals, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution. Prospect will require data center experience, rolodex of contacts in the Critical Facilities Industry – End Users, Colos, Hyperscalers as well as Partners focused with engineered solutions in MEP: Engineering, Construction and other OEMs to be considered. Responsibilities: • Leverage and Develop relationships with leading data center Colo's, enterprise and hyperscale firms to present our mission critical services, • Establish partnerships and business relationships-particularly within the data center industry, • Perform market research to identify and prioritize potential customers, expansion opportunities, and emerging technologies or projects, • Develop new business and maintain existing accounts in the Mission Critical Data Center and other commercial markets that are regionally supported, • Use your network of construction contacts, contractors, equipment providers, Rep Firms, Resellers, engineering firms, architecture firms, etc. to identify and drive in new business leads, • Develop and execute business development action plans targeting specific markets and opportunities in alignment with the company's strategic goals, • Manage account relationships, serving as the primary liaison to prospective and current clients to ensure all needs and expectations are consistently met, • Attend strategic meetings with executive team as well as both internal and external stakeholders and clients to identify and evaluate M/E and manufacturing opportunities in the data center sector and formulate strategic growth initiatives, • Oversee pipeline management activities, including tracking opportunities, forecasting, and progressing projects through the sales cycle, • Collaborate with internal teams to assist with pre-construction activities, ensuring alignment between sales objectives and project execution, • Prepare, Develop and execute strategic market entry plans and presentations, proposals, responding to RFI's, RFP's and targeting mission-critical, high-growth sectors like data centers, HPC, and AI, • Represent Company and Attend trade shows and conferences to promote the company's mission critical services such as Datacenter Dynamics (DCD), Data Center World, 7x24 National and Local Chapter meetings, IEEE, DICE Bisnow, Gartner, etc., • Partner and grow relationships with MEP Data Center Integrators, Developers, Engineering Firms, Mechanical and Electrical Contractors, GC's, Design/ Build firms, OEMs, and any other key data center stakeholder, • Provide budgeting assistance and guidance to clients during the pre-construction phase when needed, • Regularly update and maintain the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track leads, opportunities, and client interactions, • Assist in training Business Development Associates, providing mentorship to enhance their effectiveness in client engagement and proposal development, • Research and identify project opportunities through industry publications, networking, and client engagement in the data center space, • Minimum of 3-6 years of technical exposure in AEC - Architectural / Engineering / Construction or Manufacturing is a must, • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related discipline a plus, • Business Development experience related to professional services, design/build, manufactured solutions and/or construction management focusing in Mission Critical Facilities, • Solution Selling / Engineered Solutions Sales a must, • Business Acumen with ability to organize and coordinate a heavy workload of overlapping priorities and deadlines, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); experience with CRM systems is preferred, • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to produce professional proposals and presentations, • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, • Self-motivated, proactive, and a team player with strong interpersonal skills, • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others, • Active participant in local / national data center organizations and trade shows (7x24, AFCOM / datacenter world, DCD, Uptime Institute, PTC, Bisnow, etc.), • Rolodex / Contacts in the Mission Critical / Data Center Industry, • Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus!
