About the Program: Rapid Rehousing for Young Adults is a solution to homelessness designed to help young adults aged 18-24 quickly exit homelessness to permanent housing. The program provides rental assistance and support services that are tailored to the unique needs of the young person. About the Role The Aftercare and Engagement specialist will be responsible for engaging with all Young Adult Rapid Rehousing aftercare clients. Additionally, will also engage with newly enrolled a clients to prepare them for the Rapid Rehousing program, providing information, support, guidance. The Aftercare and Engagement Specialist will organize social events, to increase community among the participants. What You’ll Do • Plan, organize and participate in small groups and events held at the RRH office., • Invite newly enrolled participants to the monthly RRH Meet and Greet Orientation and will also be expected to facilitate the meetings/presentations., • Conduct individual or group life-skills sessions/workshops in order to enhance or develop participant’s skills set in maintain self-sufficiency and housing maintenance., • Actively assist and participate in all program activities and special events as needed, • Participate in staff meetings and training courses., • Work Collaborative within an interdisciplinary team., • Meet at least monthly and conduct on-going assessment of aftercare clients for supportive services needs., • Ensure accurate and timely documentation., • Participate in home visits when needed, • Participate in rental assistance transition meetings, • Conduct individual or group life-skills sessions in order to enhance or develop the Participant’s skills set in maintain self-sufficiency and housing maintenance. Your Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred., • Experience of working with adolescents., • Knowledge and understanding of the homeless population (preferably youth homelessness), • Comfortable traveling throughout NYC., • Must possess strong organizational, presentation, verbal and written communication skills and computer proficiency. ➢ Must have strong engagement and interpersonal skills.
