BDS is a public defense office representing low-income New Yorkers in criminal, family, immigration, and civil legal matters. For nearly 30 years, BDS has worked, in and out of court, to protect and uphold the rights of individuals and to change laws and systems that perpetuate injustice and inequality. Our legal expertise work with clients is focused on the intersections of these legal systems that disproportionately impact Black and Brown communities living in poverty. BDS represents thousands of people each year who have diverse, complex, and multi-faceted legal needs. In addition to a zealous legal defense, our interdisciplinary teams of attorneys, social workers and advocates provide a wide range of legal and advocacy services, including for housing, public benefits, education, and employment. Job Description The FFT Therapist provides FFT (Functional Family Therapy) virtually, to a maximum of 10 voluntarily participating families at a time who reside in NYC. The target population of young adults (16-25 years old), who are referred to us after an arrest. This is a pilot program to offer FFT to families and young people who might otherwise find themselves incarcerated without this alternative. FFT is an evidence-based model which is home-based, intensive, family therapy. The FFT Therapist participates in all FFT training and consultation activities, and program reviews. In addition to providing Family Therapy, the FFT Therapist will collaborate with other service providers, including but not limited to the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) and New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA). The FFT Therapist is required to complete all FFT documentation requirements, including meeting appropriate therapeutic and engagement requirements and assessing for family safety and risk. This role sits within the Office of the CEO and works closely with Global Citizens Marketing and Communications teams to ensure alignment between the CEOs voice and the organizations broader mission, campaigns, and brand. The Social Media Senior Manager will be responsible for executing a comprehensive social media strategy for the CEO, managing day-to-day content production and publishing, and identifying opportunities to elevate the CEOs voice across key platforms. This role requires a strong strategic thinker and hands-on content operator who can translate organizational priorities, global moments, and key partnerships into compelling digital storytelling. The ideal candidate has experience supporting senior executives or C-suite leaders on social media and understands how to balance brand management, executive voice, hands-on content creations, and mission-driven storytelling in a fast-paced global organization. Key Responsibilities Content Development & Storytelling - 30% • Lead the development of social media content across the CEOs channels, including written posts, short-form video, scripts, graphics, and multimedia storytelling., • Draft social copy, talking points, captions, and scripts as part of the content pre-production., • Coordinate with internal teams to translate key momentscampaigns, announcements, global events, partnerships, and milestonesinto engaging social content., • Maintain a consistent and authentic voice for the CEO while ensuring alignment with Global Citizens brand and mission., • Build and maintain a comprehensive content calendar for the CEOs social channels, including day-to-day posting, tentpole moments, events, and campaign amplification., • Capture and produce social-first content including short-form video, behind-the-scenes moments, and event-based content., • Manage external vendors and freelance creators as needed to support high-quality content production., • Maintain strong working knowledge of social media platforms and their evolving features and algorithms., • Utilize digital tools and analytics platforms to optimize performance and workflow., • Understand how to implement paid media campaigns for individual verified accounts., • Execute a comprehensive social media strategy for the CEOs channels that aligns with Global Citizens organizational priorities, campaigns, and global moments., • Identify opportunities to elevate the CEOs voice across key platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, and emerging channels., • Continuously monitor trends, industry developments, and partner activity to identify new opportunities for engagement and thought leadership., • Work closely with the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Global Citizen Growth Team to ensure the CEOs digital presence supports broader organizational messaging and strategic priorities. Analytics & Performance - 10% • Monitor and analyze the performance of social media campaigns and content across the CEOs platforms., • Identify opportunities to optimize engagement, audience growth, and impact through data-informed decision making., • Develop frameworks to measure and report on the effectiveness of the CEOs social presence. Key Requirements • 5+ years of experience managing social media strategy and content, preferably supporting senior executives or C-suite leaders., • Demonstrated experience developing and executing successful social media campaigns across multiple platforms., • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for executive voice., • Strong understanding of major social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok., • Experience producing or managing multimedia content including video and short-form digital storytelling., • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously., • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities., • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information., • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple teams., • This role requires communicating with colleagues across time zones, which can be outside of standard East Coast working hours., • Preferred: Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
