Job Title: Microbiology Lab Tech Location: Franklin Lakes, NJ Pay Rate: $39.69/hour Shift: 1st Shift Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our team in the development and testing of pharmaceutical products, raw materials, and medical devices. This role will perform microbiological testing in a BioSafety Level-2 (BSL-2) laboratory under GLP conditions and support both routine and non-routine testing projects. Key Responsibilities: • Perform microbiological testing in accordance with USP, ASTM, ISO, and CLSI standards, including sterility testing, microbial limits, bioburden, and efficacy assays (time-kill, MIC/MBC)., • Plan and execute studies inside a BioSafety Cabinet, maintain microbiological cultures, and record viable counts of microorganisms (CFU)., • Support qualification, calibration, and validation of laboratory equipment and instruments., • Maintain laboratory notebooks and records in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)., • Work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned projects., • Coordinate or lead test requests as needed, under the direction of a supervisor., • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field., • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a microbiology laboratory or related industrial experience (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, personal care, or cosmetics) in R&D or QC., • Experience in a BioSafety Level-2 (BSL-2) laboratory environment., • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills., • Experience in GxP-regulated laboratory environments., • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)., • Standing or sitting at a laboratory bench for extended periods., • Working in front of a biological safety cabinet for extended periods., • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., • BioSafety Level-2 (BSL-2) laboratory., • Handling of biological, chemical, or human body fluids for testing.
