Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: This position will transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule and regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort, complies with local traffic regulations. Performs a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain the motor vehicle fleet. Performs other duties when not driving, such as washing, running errands, cleaning vehicles, cleaning terminal interior and exterior, loading and unloading passengers, and station attendant duties. The driver should assist disabled passengers into and out of the vehicle, secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip; may operate radio or similar device to communicate with dispatcher or other vehicles to report disruption of service. JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs scheduled routes assigned by immediate supervisor, • Responds to client inquiries (i.e. destinations served pricing, departure/arrival times, directions to terminal, complaints) all while providing outstanding customer service., • Responsible for loading and unloading of passengers, reports passenger total, and records in passenger list., • Assures luggage is in compliance with company policies and regulations., • Properly registers and places luggage in luggage compartment as well as retrieves it for passengers., • Verifies operational safety of equipment and devices such as brakes, clutch, lights, mirrors, glass, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, highway warning kits, horn, warning lights and buzzers, emergency exits, wipers, signs, tires, etc., • Daily inspection of fleet (pre/post trip inspections), ensure proper preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on vehicles are being performed and maintain registration records, • May fill antifreeze, service cooling systems, inspect hoses, caps, valves, etc., as required., • Safely operates all tools and equipment required to perform the assigned duties, • Drives service vehicle for parts pickup and roadside service as required., • Assists in cleaning of vehicle fleet and Terminal, internal and external, • Complies with all local, state, and federal laws (FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, FLSA, etc), • Responsible for key storage for primary and spare keys, • Assists customers needs and assures that all passengers are safe, • Assist with cleanliness of Driver dorms (certain locations), • 2 years of job related experience, • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement, • Bending Frequently - 1/3 - 2/3 of the time, • Carrying Frequently - 1/3 - 2/3 of the time, • Climbing Rarely - Less than 1 hour/week, • Crouching Rarely - Less than 1 hour/week, • Fine Dexterity (skill/adroitness with hands; ex typing, administering shots, etc.) Rarely - Less than 1 hour/week, • Foot Control (manipulation of pedals, controls, equipment, etc. with feet) Frequently - 1/3 - 2/3 of the time, • Handling Frequently - 1/3 - 2/3 of the time, • Hearing (ability to interpret and differentiate between sound, etc.) Constantly - 2/3 or more of the time, • Kneeling Rarely - Less than 1 hour/week, • Lifting/Exerting Frequently - 1/3 - 2/3 of the time, • Pushing/Pulling Occasionally-Up to 1/3 of time, • Reaching Occasionally-Up to 1/3 of time, • Sitting Constantly - 2/3 or more of the time, • Standing Occasionally-Up to 1/3 of time, • Talking (ability to speak coherently and be understood by others) Constantly - 2/3 or more of the time, • Twisting Occasionally-Up to 1/3 of time, • Vision (ability to differentiate between color, to determine distance, depth perception, etc.) Constantly - 2/3 or more of the time, • Stress Demands - Person in the position is responsible for maintaining stable performance under pressure or opposition, and handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization. - Occasionally-Up to 1/3 of time, • Time Pressures – Person in the position is responsible for producing work/outcomes relatively quickly, within a specified timeframe. -Occasionally-Up to 1/3 of time, • Frequent Change of Tasks – Person in the position is responsible for reprioritizing workload based on the needs of the organization. - Rarely - Less than 1 hour/week, • Performing multiple tasks simultaneously - Person in the position is responsible for working on a variety of different tasks simultaneously, while maintaining the quality of the work.
