JOB SUMMARY: The High School Social Worker will serve as a liaison between scholars, school personnel, families, and outside resources for both the Uniondale and Hempstead High Schools. They will be responsible for providing intensive counseling to students with significant social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. This person will also assist students with academic learning by providing strategic services that identify and address issues that interfere with the educational process. The Social Worker will also lead the alumni engagement initiative which will provide ongoing support and guidance to our High School graduates and their families. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Social Work • Counsel students with personal and psychological issues that affect their performance, socialization, and behavior in school., • Provide counseling sessions, treatment plans and workshops to establish prevention programs and intervention plans., • Assist teachers by communicating with students to find the causes of their behaviors, • Provide support to students and families suffering from hunger, abuse, homelessness by providing access to resources for shelters, food banks and medical care., • Analyze information gained through record reviews and interviews to determine environmental impacts and appropriate resources needed; integrate gained information into a written report., • Develop and implement professional development training for educational staff and parents., • Participate in professional development activities aimed at current trends and best practices for the provision of comprehensive school social work services., • Maintain an ongoing liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet student needs; refers parents and student to agencies when appropriate. Pay Transparency: The salary range for this role is $62,500 - $83,000. Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Position Summary: The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing and/or building food items while providing customer service and adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Academy Charter school location based on school requirements and needs. Responsibilities: • Prepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions, • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures, • Sets up work stations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc., • Breaks down, cleans and sanitizes work stations, • Serves food to students, teachers, admin, etc. while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers’ needs, • Replenishes food items and ensures items are stocked to appropriate levels Pay Transparency: The hourly range for this role is $17.00/hr. - $21.00/hr. Position Salary: $20.50 / hour, Part-Time (18hrs bi-weekly) Position Summary Assist the Admissions Worker in implementing enrollment and orientation activities. Assist students in gaining comfort in the use of community resources. Assist Service Coordinators with structuring appointments for off-site visits. Provide counseling supports as needed.
