Job Description The Mental Health Association is seeking Per Diem Crisis Outreach Supervisors for our new program, 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, operating out of the Hudson County location. The 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program will respond to adults (18 and above) in nonlife-threatening situations who have contacted the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program (MCORT) responds 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, to nonlife-threatening mental health, substance use or suicidal crises in the community. MCORT will work in coordination with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline crisis centers. (The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline was formerly the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.) MCORT is to be comprised of a two-person team in the field under remote supervision by a third professional from a centralized location. Shifts are on an as-needed basis for this position. The Suicide Prevention -Training Implementation and Evaluation initiative (SP-TIE) Program at the New York State Psychiatric Institute is seeking a full-time Suicide Prevention Specialist to work on several federal- and foundation-funded grants on suicide prevention. International Health and Medical Services is looking for an experienced Behavioral Health Specialists to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders among patients, ensuring they receive appropriate psychiatric care and support. This role includes collaborating with the healthcare team to implement treatment plans, monitor progress, and provide crisis intervention as needed, fostering mental health and well-being within the facility. Job Description Summary: Supervises a team of employees who receive incoming telephone calls involving domestic violence, rape, and other crimes that will, in some instances, require making quick decisions regarding the caller’s safety and well-being. The Team Leader has a key role in setting the standard for assessing human service needs via telephone using active listening, crisis intervention and/or suicide risk assessment skills. The Team Leader manages staff members who will normally elicit essential information from the caller including the problem (or complaint) determine the immediacy and type of response needed based on an initial risk assessment, and document critical aspects of the telephone call and actions taken on the agency’s database.
