Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/19/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, evenings, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) Location: Bronx, NY 10467 Position Type: Contract Start Date: January 19, 2026 Assignment Length: 13 Weeks Shift: Evening/Night (12-hour shifts) Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Unit Information • Unit: Operating Room (OR), • Setting: Acute Care, • Division: Nursing, • Charting System: Epic Systems Corporation – EpicCare Inpatient, • EPIC experience requiredRoles & Responsibilities, • Prepare the operating room with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment for each procedure., • Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile technique., • Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care as part of the perioperative team., • Monitor patient status, vital signs, and responses to anesthesia and surgical interventions., • Perform circulating or scrub nurse duties depending on assignment and competency., • Advocate for patient safety and act promptly during emergencies or complications., • Document all patient care activities accurately using the Epic EMR system., • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure efficient workflow., • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines., • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and tracking of specimens., • Participate in room turnover, equipment checks, and inventory management.Required Skills, • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures across multiple specialties (e.g., general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, ENT, neuro, etc., as applicable)., • Proficiency in circulating and/or scrub roles., • Ability to operate and troubleshoot OR equipment and instruments., • Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills, especially in high-pressure situations., • Skilled in sterile technique, patient positioning, and OR safety protocols., • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a multidisciplinary environment., • Experience with Epic EMR charting., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently., • Ability to maintain composure and performance during trauma or emergency procedures.Position Requirements, • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience as an RN, • Active NY RN license, • ACLS and BLS certifications required, • Flu vaccination required BSN not required Application Process: Please submit your resume to or Call (949) 889-0323.
