Job Description The Queens Flagship store and Maker’s space our most important representation of our brand, and is our laboratory for piloting new concepts, processes and approaches to our business such as our new Maker Workshop, classes and community engagement. This store should be leading the company in both innovation and excellence. This is a great opportunity for close partnership and collaboration with key corporate functions like Product and Marketing. The Store Director will be critical in helping to envision, design, test, execute and build the success of this new store format. This person must be an exemplary representative of the Tandy brand – both as a critical face of the brand, but also to build our credibility with the leathercrafting industry as a place “where the pros shop” – critical to our overall strategy. This person must be extremely knowledgeable about leathercrafting of all different kinds. This is not a shopkeeper but a consultant to leatherworkers – both beginners and the pros. The Store Director must have the knowledge and expertise about all of our products and the vast array of leathercrafting techniques to credibly teach, guide, advise and inspire the passion of leathercrafters of all levels. Finally, this store represents an elevation of duties and expectations compared to a Tandy Store Manager. The Store Director is responsible for building and managing a business, hiring and developing the team, engaging and connecting with the community, and managing the 4-wall cash flow. RISE seeks a Violence Prevention Advocate to join the Transformative Initiatives team, supporting the Mayor's Action Plan (MAP) for Domestic Violence Technical Assistance (DVTA) Program. Reporting to the Transformative Initiatives Program Manager, the Violence Prevention Advocate will provide outreach, engagement, case management, and workshop facilitation services for both survivors of domestic violence and individuals who cause harm. This role requires a trauma-informed, community-driven approach to increase awareness, strengthen connections to resources, and support safety, accountability, and healing. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this position oversees PHA's internal accounting activities across manufacturing, retail, café/hospitality, facility rentals, and grant-funded programs, and partners with colleagues across the organization to strengthen financial systems, reporting, and controls. PHA's general ledger and combined financial statements are maintained by our external accounting partner; the Accounting Manager serves as the primary internal liaison to that partner, reviews the internal team's work to ensure accurate and timely information flows to them, and supervises one direct report. Areas of responsibility include: Accounting & Financial Operations • Act as a partner to the VP of Finance and department heads, leveraging knowledge of departmental workflows to ensure strong accounting, controls, and reporting practices as new initiatives arise, • Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close led by PHA's external accounting partner, ensuring internal data is accurate, documented, and delivered on time, • Review the team's journal entries and supporting schedules across cash and investments, payroll and benefits, receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, AP and accrued expenses, deferred revenue, contributions and grants, and intercompany transactions, • Supervise accounts payable processes and implement improvements, ensuring accurate and timely payments with Finance Coordinator support, • Supervise accounts receivable processes in collaboration with revenue-generating departments and implement improvements; support follow-up for outstanding balances; ensure accurate revenue reconciliation across Stripe, Spektrix, Harvest, Shopify, Wix, Toast, check deposits, and incoming wires, with Finance Coordinator support, • Review grant agreements and analyze new contributions and grants to determine proper allocation, revenue recognition, and timely receipt of funds in accordance with GAAP, in collaboration with the external accounting partner and Development team, • Oversee Ramp administration, including monthly reconciliation, payments, support for staff cards, and expense reimbursements, with Finance Coordinator support, • Oversee equipment and fixed asset schedules, • Support in-kind donation recognition in collaboration with Development, • Manage petty cash reconciliation with Finance Coordinator support, • Act as Finance team expert on Intacct, Bill.com, Ramp, Stripe, Spektrix, Harvest, Shopify, Wix, Toast, and other FinTech systems, • Prepare cash flow forecasting and provide monthly detailed cash flow projections for internal leadership, • Serve as the primary internal liaison to PHA's external accounting partner, ensuring they receive accurate, timely, and well-documented information to maintain the general ledger and produce combined financial statements Compliance & Audit • Serve as an internal expert on the PHA Fiscal Policies and Procedures manual, supporting organizational compliance by maintaining internal controls and continuously recommending improvements, • Support the VP of Finance on annual audit internally; coordinating schedules, reconciliations, and documentation in partnership with PHA's external accounting partner and external auditors, • Collaborate with the VP of Finance, PHA's external accounting partner, and auditors on preparation of the PHA Form 990, • Undertake compliance with sales tax payments and reporting Reporting & Budgeting • Distribute monthly financial reports (prepared by PHA's external accounting partner) to department heads, providing context and commentary to help each department understand their revenue and expense budgets; support teams in refining expense estimates based on historical data and actuals, • Collaborate with the VP of Finance on annual budget development and quarterly reprojections, focusing on expense analysis and supporting the VP of Finance with revenue projections, • Collaborate with the VP of Finance to continuously refine reporting and allocation methods across business units (e.g., staffing reconciliations, cost of goods sold, billable labor), • Continuously improve the clarity, accuracy, and usefulness of internal reporting to strengthen how program and department leads engage with their budgets Leadership & Collaboration • Represent the Finance team as a proactive partner to colleagues across the organization, continuously troubleshooting and improving systems to support the work of colleagues as a priority., • Supervise and mentor the Finance Coordinator in daily tasks outlined above., • Stay up to date in nonprofit finance, bringing suggestions and fresh ideas to the team. Job Description Summary: Safe Horizon’s Anti-Trafficking Program (ATP) is one of the largest providers on the East Coast and one of the only providers in New York State offering comprehensive services to survivors of all types of human trafficking, including labor trafficking. Our program applies a multi-tiered approach to eradicating human trafficking. We provide intensive case management, supportive counseling and legal services to holistically meet the needs of trafficked persons. While recognizing that client services alone will not turn the tide on human trafficking, our Anti-Trafficking Program also offers community education, technical assistance, training and advocacy to foster systemic change. The Training and Outreach Manager is responsible for developing and implementing training programs, in coordination with ATP staff, with the primary goal of assisting grantees of the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) Enhanced Collaborative Model to Combat Human Trafficking (ECM), in particular the Brooklyn Human Trafficking Task Force (BKHTTF), to improve community prevention of, and response to, the crimes of human trafficking, both sex and labor. The Training and Outreach Manager will continue to develop our existing training modules, outreach campaign and materials, in collaboration with Kings County District Attorney Office (KCDAO)’s BKHTTF Director. The Training and Outreach Manager, in conjunction with KCDAO staff, will conduct training and outreach activities in high-risk areas of NYC with the goal to increase awareness of human trafficking, and to increase trust between communities and law enforcement agents. This position will require travel within New York City, some limited travel out of state and some weekend and off hour work. The Training and Outreach Manager is also responsible for conducting a specific number of trainings/presentations and outreach efforts in compliance with the OVC-ECM grant from the Department of Justice. Responsibilities: • Learn and integrate ongoing training and education regarding a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients., • Provide training to federal and state government agencies, federal and local law enforcement agents, community-based organizations, and any other identified organizations regarding prevention and response to human trafficking., • Coordinate, design and co-facilitate training curricula, outreach materials and activities/events, as well as other workshops on topics related to human trafficking, both sex and labor of all victims – men, women, minors, LGBTQ, and foreign nationals and U.S. citizens., • Enter information for monthly statistical reports related to the project into databases for grant reporting and prepare training/presentation narrative write-ups as part of grant reporting., • Continue to develop, supervise and manage all trainings/presentations and training protocols for BKHTTF and ATP., • Oversee fulfillment of all training/presentation activities and reporting requirements for the OVC grantee assistance contracts., • Provide professional development training opportunities for ATP social worker and legal staff, including collaborating with ATP team members on multidisciplinary anti-trafficking trainings, including internal Safe Horizon Need to Know trainings and external trainings for medical providers, legal providers and others, • Continue to develop and spearhead the Train the Trainers program for Voices of Hope, the ATP survivor leadership group comprised of current and former ATP clients, in collaboration with the VOH Liaison, and work closely with VOH members to train them in presenting the ATP Human Trafficking 101 curriculum to civil society partners, law enforcement and government agencies, • Actively participate in bi-weekly staff meetings with a small and dynamic team., • Attend bi-weekly supervision meetings with the Supervising Social Worker, attend monthly Voices of Hope meetings with the Administrative Coordinator/VOH Liaison, and monthly supervision meetings with the Associate Vice President overseeing the Anti-Trafficking Program, Immigration Law Project and Domestic Violence Law Project., • Perform other duties as assigned. Interacts with: • Staff from the Safe Horizon’s Anti-Trafficking Program, as well as Safe Horizon’s IT and Training Departments, • All ECM OVC grantees and external agencies and organizations related to the administration of the ECM-OVC grant, including KCDAO staff., • All external agencies and organizations working to assist survivors of human trafficking or working to combat trafficking in persons. Qualifications: • At least four years of professional experience developing and conducting diverse training, outreach and community organizing activities, preferably around trafficking, specifically trauma victims (for various audiences) with demonstrated results. Knowledge and Skills: Required: • Strong relationships with and/or knowledge of law enforcement agencies, community-based organizations, and victim services organizations serving and interacting with victims of trafficking., • Excellent verbal and written communications skills., • Knowledge and Experience of training curricula development; ability to integrate engaging training techniques for diverse audiences (e.g. federal grantees administering services programs for trafficking victims, government officials or potential clients) and update existing trainings and materials., • Dynamic public speaker and presenter with ability to engage diverse audiences., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Ability to delegate tasks to staff you do not directly supervise in tandem with their direct supervisor to ensure consistency and manage workload., • Must be familiar with a range of social justice work, including the underlying social issues impacting trafficking victims., • Excellent cross-cultural skills., • Strong workshop design and facilitation skills, including the general public, social service providers, and other partners., • Strong networking and organizational skills; ability to work independently and maintain flexibility in working across multiple program sites., • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills., • Comprehensive management, supervisory and leadership skills., • Ability to balance administrative responsibilities and responding to ongoing requests in a fast-paced environment.
