We are looking for a motivated, compassionate, forward-thinking Medical Director for the Developmental Pediatrics program at the Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ. About Our Department: The Developmental Pediatrics program provides consultation and other professional services as part of the Valley Medical Group and Valley-Mount Sinai Childrens Health Service line in northern New Jersey. The Director would lead a team including a physician, nurse practitioner and social workers to provide clinical expertise in early childhood development, behavioral, and psychosocial issues at the Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD). The KCCD offers a broad spectrum of services, including speech, physical, and occupational therapies. A complete audiology service is also available on-site at the KCCD. In this position you will be part of a larger multi-specialty group including experienced providers in Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Pulmonary and Sleep medicine, Food Allergy, Cardiology, PM&R, and Neonatology all in collaboration with Mount Sinai Kravis Childrens Hospital and the Mount Sinai Health System. Psychiatrists on the teaching unit are part of a multi-disciplinary team providing intermediate level care to youth ages 5-18 with complex emotional and behavioral needs in an inpatient setting. Job Description The Unaccompanied Children Program provides long term and transitional residential care and other supportive services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) who are under legal custody of the Federal Government. Working in collaboration with the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, ORR, our program provides a safe and nurturing environment for youth in a Basic Shelter program located at our licensed residential facilities as well as a Transitional Foster Care program in foster homes in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Westchester. Job Description Position Overview: The Senior Psychologist is responsible for delivering comprehensive psychological evaluations and diagnostic assessments across the Specialized Treatment Programs. This includes conducting all required psychological testing, developing integrated clinical formulations, and ensuring that every youth receives an accurate, timely, and clinically meaningful evaluation that guides placement, treatment planning, and service needs. The division currently includes an OCFS-licensed Diagnostic Program (males and females ages 12–18), the OMH-licensed Rapid Intervention Center (males and females ages 5–17), and a Hard-to-Place Residential Cottage (males ages 6–12).
