Our direct client, located in the Bronx, is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) to provide support to participants in our Community Resources for Employment and Development Program (CRED NYC). This full-time role is essential to promoting the mental health, emotional well-being, and self-management skills of participants engaging in CRED NYC. The LMHP will deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive mental health support through a combination of individual counseling and small-group sessions. The role also includes conducting mental health assessments, coordinating access to supportive services, and collaborating with program staff to ensure participants are fully supported throughout their training and career development. The FEF co-leads the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Center project for Staten Island and works with the team's other FEFs and Resource and Referral Specialists (RRSs). The FEF collaborates with external partners to develop and deliver technical assistance, training, and coaching to various stakeholders in the special education and disability community, with a focus on enhancing family engagement capacity to improve educational outcomes for children with disabilities. Stakeholders can include families, school administrators and educators, community groups, and professionals working with children with disabilities. Children’s age groups may span early childhood and school-age ranges, but the position will primarily focus on school-age. For bilingual FEF roles, it is expected that approximately 20%-25% of family engagement outreach activities will be in a language other than American English. Psychosocial teachers work in tandem with the head academic teachers to provide social-emotional and relevant academic (e.g., executive functioning) support to students. Psychosocial teachers also provide social-emotional, self-regulatory, and executive functioning support to students in the milieu of the school day. Psychosocial teachers have the opportunity to receive mentorship and support from the Lower School leadership team, academic head teachers, and the clinical staff. A benefit of this position is the amount of professional development one will obtain in working with twice-exceptional youth and in being mentored by veteran special education teachers and clinicians. • Empower students to optimize their learning by providing all necessary scaffolding, modeling, materials, and resources, and consistently maintaining a high level of expectation for student success., • Coach students in utilizing psychosocial and executive functioning skills in classes and during work periods and transitions. The school is located on the fifth and sixth floors of a building with one elevator. This role requires working in various locations around the school and accompanying students to a local park for outdoor time. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This course supports students in developing healthy movement habits, physical literacy, and confidence through structured, age-appropriate activities that prioritize safety, inclusivity, and positive participation. Instruction should be educational and skills-based, aligned with site policies and supervision expectations. This role is not intended to provide medical guidance, diagnosis, or individualized training plans. The instructor will deliver instruction across a typical 10-week cycle, with pacing adapted to student readiness and site logistics. What You Will Teach Students will participate in guided fitness routines and movement-based activities designed to build foundational strength, endurance, coordination, balance, and flexibility in a supportive environment.
