This individual will partner closely with Systems, Design, Firmware, Quality, and Manufacturing, architect the test approach, define requirements, and ensure technical adequacy of contract manufacturer (CM)‑implemented solutions. When manufacturing issues exceed CM troubleshooting capability, the role serves as a deep technical escalation point to guide root‑cause analysis and corrective actions. /ph3Key Responsibilities /h3ullibProduction Test Strategy Architecture /bulliDefine the end‑to‑end production test strategy for medical devices, including bare PCBAs, sub‑assemblies, and final HLAs (system‑level functional, calibration, connectivity, and safety tests). /liliAuthor clear test requirements and specifications for CM implementation. /liliEstablish test coverage aligned with risk (ISO14971), design intent, and regulatory requirements. /liliDrive decisions on test partitioning—what is tested where, at which stage, and why. /liliBalance test coverage, cost, cycle time, and scalability for high‑volume manufacturing. /li /ul /lilibTest Frameworks /bulliDefine standardized test architectures and frameworks, including test hardware concepts such as fixtures, probes, golden units, and loopback schemes. /liliDefine test software architecture and automation using Python, LabVIEW, or custom frameworks. /liliDevelop data capture, traceability, and serialization strategies. /liliEnsure test designs and strategies support regulatory compliance, field reliability, post‑market investigations, and CAPAs. /li /ul /lilibContract Manufacturer Technical Leadership /bulliServe as the technical authority for production test across overseas CMs. /liliReview and approve CM‑developed test concepts, fixture designs, and test software approaches. /liliProvide strong technical guidance while allowing the CM to own execution and validation. /liliParticipate in DFM/DFT reviews and NPI readiness assessments. /liliSupport audits by clearly articulating test intent, coverage rationale, and CM responsibilities. /li /ul /lilibEscalation Deep Technical Triage /bulliAct as an escalation point and conduct deep dive root‑cause analyses when yield issues persist or CM engineering teams cannot resolve complex failures. /liliPartner with Sustaining Engineering, Quality, and Systems teams to drive corrective actions. /liliEnsure lessons learned feed back into improved test coverage and future designs. /li /ul /li /ulh3Required Qualifications /h3ulliBS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. /lili10–12+ years of experience in hardware test engineering, manufacturing test, or NPI for very high‑volume consumer or regulated products (medical, aerospace, automotive). /liliStrong understanding of mixed‑signal PCBAs, embedded systems (MCUs, SoCs, sensors, power management), and system‑level test challenges (connectivity, calibration, analog performance). /liliProven experience defining production test strategies rather than just executing tests. /liliDeep knowledge of ICT, functional test, boundary scan, calibration, and parametric testing. /liliFamiliarity with Python‑based test frameworks, LabVIEW, and test data analytics. /liliPrior experience working directly with overseas CMs in Asia or Mexico. /li /ulh3Soft Skills Leadership /h3ulliAble to operate effectively across time zones and cultures. /liliComfortable acting as a technical authority without direct line management of CM teams. /liliPragmatic, risk‑based decision maker with a systems‑level mindset. /li /ulh3Nice to Have /h3ulliFamiliarity with FDA‑regulated manufacturing environments (21CFR820). /liliExperience supporting post‑market investigations and CAPA from a test perspective. /li /ulpFor positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce – Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State – Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
