We are seeking a bGame Localization Lead /b to own the linguistic direction and execution strategy for all German content across 2K’s game portfolio. /p pThis is an bindividual contributor role /b within the Content Localization (CLOC) team. You’ll serve as the key German language authority, working with minimal supervision across complex projects. You’ll apply deep linguistic and cultural expertise while partnering with developers, producers, QA, and publishing stakeholders to ensure language quality meets player expectations and platform-holder standards. /p h3What You’ll Do /h3 ul liOwn the blocalization strategy, quality bar, and final sign-off /b for bGerman /b content across all 2K titles /li liReview and edit localized content (in-game text, UI, scripts, VO) for tone, clarity, fluency, and cultural relevance /li liDevelop, maintain, and enforce bglossaries, style guides /b, and cultural content policies for the bGerman /b market /li liCollaborate with cross-functional teams—localization producers, embedded LQA, marketing, publishing, and dev to guide language decisions and alignment /li liServe as the main blinguistic escalation point /b for bGerman /b-related bugs, tone disputes, or QA challenges /li liSupervise and provide feedback to entry- and mid-level linguists or vendors working on bGerman /b content /li liConsult with game studios and content owners on bGerman age rating requirements /b, terminology usage, and visual/language compliance /li liLead VO casting, script review, and bdirect creative sessions /b during bGerman /b voiceover production /li liRegularly review in-development and near-final builds to audit for tone, consistency, and cultural resonance /li liRecommend and help implement bprocess improvements /b that improve quality, reduce error rates, or optimize turnaround time for bGerman /b localization /li liParticipate in Global Loc 2.0 initiatives, working with senior leadership to shape evolving localization standards, practices, and tooling /li /ul h3What Will Make You A Great Fit /h3 ul libProfessional localization experience /b in games, tech, or entertainment /li liNative fluency in bGerman /b, with demonstrated mastery of tone, grammar, and regional nuance /li liAdvanced English fluency (written and spoken); capable of representing language decisions across global teams /li liProven ability to work bindependently on complex language projects /b, exercising judgment and creativity in ambiguous or conflicting situations /li liStrong working knowledge of bplatform-holder guidelines /b, naming conventions, and brand alignment principles /li liComfortable overseeing or mentoring junior linguists and freelance vendors /li liFamiliarity with localization tools (e.g., bCAT tools /b, translation memory systems, XLOC, JIRA, CMS) /li liDeep understanding of German bculture /b, media, and the German-speaking gaming audience /li liExperience with VO scripting, bdubbing production /b, and linguistic performance direction is a plus /li liBachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, media, or related field preferred /li /ul h3Why Join Us? /h3 pAs a bGame Localization Lead /b for German, you will directly shape how our players in Germany and other German-speaking regions experience our games.
