Reporting to: BESS Engineering Manager Based in: Madrid, Spain The selected Jr BESS Engineer will be a top renewable developer present in 13 countries across 5 continents, with +3.5 GW built, +10 GW PV pipeline and +15 GW BESS pipeline. Owned by Brookfield, focused on utility-scale solar and energy storage. This role belongs to the BESS Center of Excellence within the Global Storage department, reporting to the BESS Engineering Manager. What will you do? • Technical Support: Provide global technical support to Business Units on hybrid,, • co-located, and standalone BESS projects; evaluate plant capabilities, dimension energy, • storage systems, and advise on design, installation, O&M best practices., • Engineering Standards: Develop and maintain BESS design standards; ensure, • compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality, • benchmarks., • Technical Documentation: Develop technical specifications for OEM and EPC, • tender processes; support conceptual and detailed engineering approval across all BESS, • topologies and project stages., • Optimization: Identify techno-economic improvement opportunities; integrate, • performance levels into BESS dispatch simulation models to maximize revenue capture;, • communicate methodology and results to stakeholders., • CAPEX Estimation: Analyze BESS supplier offers from a techno-economic, • perspective to forecast CAPEX for BESS technologies., • Supplier Engagement: Support technical discussions with technology suppliers;, • evaluate proposals and technical bids from BESS suppliers and EPC contractors in RFP, • processes., • Innovation: Monitor cutting-edge energy storage technologies; develop, • methodologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of BESS, • systems. What do we need? • 2+ years of experience with BESS projects (design, procurement, delivery) at national and international level • Battery technology expertise: Li-ion chemistry, grid integration, and technical KPIs (degradation, usable energy, DOD, energy throughput) • Bachelor's in Engineering; Master's in BESS or renewable energies preferred, • Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel) and project planning software, • Fluent English and Spanish; additional languages a plus (Italian, German), • Power Conversion Systems for BESS; HV/MV equipment (transformers, switchgear), • BESS EPC models (full wrap or dual EPC), • Design software: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, • Renewable energy business principles and basic electricity markets, • Team player, proactive, detail and goal-oriented, • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, • Ability to explain complex engineering topics clearly to internal and external audiences • Comfortable working with incomplete information across multiple simultaneous projects • Passion for renewables and energy sustainability What do we offer? • Career development in a leading international environment, • Yearly bonus based on objectives, • Flexible work schedule + Flex-Friday (1 Friday off per month), • Hybrid remote model (2 remote days per week), • Ticket Restaurant & Health Insurance, • Additional perks: Healthy X-Elio, Workshops, Green Mobility programs Join a team of passionate and talented individuals making a positive impact in the world!
