The Spanish facility is designed as the first net‑zero industrial park gigafactory in the country, aligning with AESC’s mission to pioneer sustainable battery manufacturing. Role: EHS Engineer EHS Engineer is a project-based role within the GIC organization, responsible for Health & Safety management during construction and installation activities. The direct supervisor is the Construction manager. The role ensures that contractors, suppliers and the Project Management Company implement H&S requirements in compliance with Spanish legislation, project standards and Owner’s requirements. The position focuses on execution, coordination and control on site, working in close collaboration with Corporate EHS, without replacing or duplicating its governance or corporate responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Kick-off Stage Translate Corporate EHS policies and standards into project-specific H&S requirements for construction activities. Define H&S requirements for contractors and suppliers in coordination with GIC and Corporate EHS. Coordinate with competent authorities as the Owner’s project H&S representative, as required. Align H&S planning with the PMC and the legally appointed Health & Safety Coordinator. Execution Stage Lead on-site H&S supervision and coordination on behalf of Construction Team Monitor contractor compliance with applicable laws, project requirements and approved H&S documentation. Review contractors’ H&S documentation (Construction H&S Plans, RAMS, JSAs) and monitor implementation. Coordinate daily with Construction and Site Management teams to integrate H&S into execution planning. Pay special attention to high-risk industrial activities, including heavy lifting, electrical works, hot works and interface risks typical of battery manufacturing plant construction. Ensure that construction processes and safety documentation comply with legal, contractual and project requirements. Carry out site inspections, audits and safety walks, escalating deviations through GIC project channels. Coordinate corrective actions with contractors, PMC and CSS. Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Report H&S performance and critical risks to Project Management and Corporate EHS. Escalate critical H&S risks and recommend work suspension through GIC / GEC project governance channels in case of serious or imminent danger. Close-out Stage Ensure construction-related H&S documentation and deliverables required for handover are complete and compliant. Coordinate with Corporate EHS to ensure alignment with operational and commissioning H&S requirements. Support final inspections, audits and regulatory reviews related to construction safety.
