About Food for Joe Food for Joe is a gently cooked pet food brand that is redefining the pet food market in Southern Europe. Founded in late 2021, we are one of the fastest-growing pet food startups in the region: we double sales every year, we already operate in Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy, and we have a young, committed, and rapidly expanding team (more than 70 people today and growing). Our offering is simple yet powerful: natural food, gently cooked to perfection, with visible results on pets' health and well-being. We sell primarily through online subscriptions, but we're also growing rapidly in the B2B2C channel with a presence in clinics, specialty stores, and select chains. We are in an exploding category ( fresh petfood ), with strong disruption, and we're looking for someone who wants to lead this transformation from a marketing perspective. The challenge is ambitious: to build a leading brand in Europe, with a loyal community, quality content, and a solid acquisition strategy. Main role Leading the growth of Food for Joe through a 360-degree marketing strategy that combines performance, branding, commercial activations, and international expansion. The head of marketing will be responsible for ensuring brand consistency, accelerating customer acquisition and retention, highlighting the value proposition, and aligning all B2C and B2B efforts with a focus on tangible and measurable impact. Key Responsibilities 1. Leadership and Organization • Structure and lead a team of 4 people, fostering autonomy, proactivity, and operational clarity., • Coordinate and prioritize team tasks, meeting agreed deadlines ., • Ensure the smooth execution of campaigns and activations, ensuring efficiency and focus., • Manage collaboration with specialized freelancers (Google, Meta, TikTok). 2. B2C Marketing Strategy (Digital & Subscription) • Design and optimize the customer complete journey to maximize conversion, retention and LTV., • Monitor always-on paid media campaigns : from briefing to analysis and optimization (ROAS, CAC, CTR, etc.)., • Validate and ensure the correct execution of special, one-off or promotional campaigns, • Mapping and segmenting our tribes : Understanding their motivations, values, and barriers to building content and experiences that generate connection, conversion, and loyalty. 3. Trade Marketing & Point of Sale Activation (B2B2C) • Design in-store activation tools that drive first-time purchases and increase average ticket prices and frequency., • Responsible for developing educational materials for store teams and encouraging active referrals., • Coordinate promotional campaigns and tactical actions in retail and the veterinary channel. 4. Brand Strategy & Communication • Define and ensure consistent implementation of brand identity across all channels and markets., • Unify B2C and B2B messages under a clear, authentic, and differentiating narrative., • Lead the creation of digital and physical content, ensuring consistency and creative excellence. 5. Events & Community • Design, execute, and evaluate brand events aligned with the global strategy., • Develop relationships with key communities, distributors, and partners . 6. Analytical Management and Feedback • Use internal data and analytical tools to guide decisions, adjust campaigns, and maximize results., • Collect feedback from customers and partners to improve products, content, and brand experience., • Validate and optimize the marketing budget to ensure efficient use of resources. 7. International branding • The head of marketing will be responsible for building the marketing function, with the freedom to define structure, processes, and priorities. This includes international expansion, which is not only an operational challenge but also a real leadership opportunity., • Proficiency in other languages (especially English, French, Italian, or Portuguese) will be valued positively, given the brand's international context. Required Profile • +5 years of experience leading marketing teams in B2C environments, preferably in mass consumption, food, lifestyle , or subscriptions., • Proven experience in performance marketing, paid media, content strategy, and omnichannel campaigns ., • Solid understanding of retail dynamics and point-of-sale activation., • Strategic mindset with a high focus on results and creative sensitivity., • International experience is valued; knowledge of the French, Italian, or Portuguese markets is a plus., • Mastery of analytical tools and ability to translate data into concrete actions., • Although this is a senior role, we expect the head of marketing to have a hands-on approach —not only leading, but also directly involved in execution when necessary.
