Under the guidance of the Head of Bars & Restaurants, the Bar Manager directs the operations of the Bars within the hotel. The Bar Manager assures the outlet’s service is true to the SLS brand by fostering a team culture in which its members feel empowered to make decisions and take responsibility for their workload and professional development. Manage and oversee the entire restaurant operation. Ensure the food & beverage concept of the restaurant is well executed and expectations of guests and the team are accomplished whilst continually looking for areas to improve. Continually update service offerings in line with trends and guest expectations. Manage food & beverage control including inventory, bar pars, costs controls, beverage potentials, mix of sales analysis for beverage, issue & returns and food standards. Ensure service and other standards according to SOPs are adhered to. Ensure cash handling procedures are followed and all stock items are managed. Ensure that the food & beverage team is continually trained in product and menu knowledge. Oversee the preparation and presentation of food & beverages to meet set standards. Oversee staff training and carry out on-the-job training where required. Ensures that regular, on-going communication occurs in the restaurant. Under the guidance of the Director of Finance, the IT Manager is responsible for ensuring functional integration of network and LAN hardware components throughout the entire operation. Verify receiving and storage procedures daily to ensure they are being followed. Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of technology including networks, workstations, POS, PMS, etc. to ensure efficient and revenue maximizing operations. Conduct capacity and performance studies recommending appropriate action to maintain standards of performance and capacity. Assist in performing hardware and software evaluation tests and determine appropriate installation or upgrade schedule. Administer, maintain and provide network level support for Hotel, Bar and Restaurant. Ensure functional integration of network and database server software and LAN hardware/software components. Perform fault isolation, problem determination and problem resolution of standard set network and serve problems to ensure proper integration of software and hardware components. Conduct capacity and performance studies pertaining to network file segments and servers (when applicable). Responsible for organization, preparation and production of all food stuffs. They will be assigned to the tasks in accordance with the standard operating procedures as implemented by the head sushi chef following the recipe books and production procedures. They must ensure that proper food safety regulations in the sushi bar are followed and adequate stocks of food supply in the section. They also must display efficient inter department coordination and undertake training with a good attitude. They must show interest in displaying creativity in food displays with the head sushi chef. They must ensure that the standard procedures are followed and performed to the highest level of service. They must follow the rules in the kitchen department and report any issue to the head sushi chef. They need to be able to run the service and make the basic dishes and sushi. The sushi prep must have Nobu knowledge in how to do sushi in the Nobu way (6 steps) and cook the rice. The sushi prep needs to be able to make sashimi and maki, showcasing sushi basic knife skills and understanding of classic Nobu presentation. Cut and prepare different types of fish and vegetables. Job Description What you’ll do We are looking for an experienced Assistant Director of Finance to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance directs the day-to-day operations of the accounting team, assuring that a highly productive and well trained team is always maintained. The Assistant Director of Finance assures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of the financial reporting and accounting functions while providing information and assistance to the Director of Finance. Responsible for overseeing all accounting/finance duties and management reporting for multi-site Hotel, food and beverage venues including but not limited to: full cycle month end closes, financial statement preparation, complex account analysis, reconciliation, as well as budgeting and forecasting for Hotel, Restaurants and Bars, and Recreation. Ensuring data integrity and accuracy as well as development and documentation of system controls, operational procedures and business process improvements. Supporting the implementations and upgrades of all front of house systems. Maintain balance sheet analysis on a monthly basis with full supporting. Investor reporting, payroll entries, coordination of year end audits, consolidations, and will work on special projects as needed. Supervise, manage and mentor their staff in all areas of accounting including but not limited to technical training, professional development and conducting and delivering performance reviews. Ensure compliance of budgets and cost controls; and will also be responsible to train venue Managers in financial accounting as needed. Ensure all legal, treasury, and tax documentation is properly maintained and secured, and that all statuary and fiscal reporting requirements are satisfied, which includes any governmental requirements for permits and licenses. Ensuring hotel’s compliance to all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes. Provide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these items. We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service. Qualifications What we are looking for... University degree with emphasis in Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics is required. Experience in Hospitality, Restaurants and Nightlife Accounting preferred. Three to five (3-5) years accounting experience including 3 or more years at supervisory/management level, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel. Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards. Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values. An intermediate understanding of hotel system such as Opera if preferred and proficient knowledge of computer systems such as: Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is required. Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high level attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in Spanish and English.
