We’re working with UK-based start-up AI Labs, who are building and improving frontier AI systems capable of advanced mathematical reasoning. They are looking for exceptional mathematicians, quantitative thinkers, and problem-solvers to help train next-generation AI models on complex mathematical tasks. This is not data labelling. This is deep mathematical reasoning work focused on evaluating whether an argument is genuinely rigorous — or simply sounds convincing. The Role You will: • Review AI-generated mathematical proofs and derivations, • Detect subtle logical flaws and inconsistencies, • Compare multiple solution pathways, • Produce high-quality reference solutions, • Help shape how advanced AI systems reason through mathematics Typical domains include: • Algebra, • Analysis, • Probability & Statistics, • Topology, • Mathematical Modelling, • Applied Mathematics Key Criteria To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should ideally demonstrate the following: • Currently completing or have completed a PhD, MSc, or advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, or a highly mathematical discipline, • Strong understanding of advanced mathematical reasoning and proof-based problem solving, • Ability to critically evaluate mathematical arguments and identify subtle logical inconsistencies or inaccuracies, • Comfortable working across areas such as Algebra, Analysis, Probability & Statistics, Topology, Applied Mathematics, and Mathematical Modelling, • Excellent analytical thinking and intellectual curiosity, • Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly and rigorously, • Ability to compare multiple solution methods and assess correctness, efficiency, and logical validity, • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment, • Prior AI or Machine Learning experience is not required, although interest in frontier AI technologies would be advantageous, • Available to contribute flexibly on a project-based basis, • Fully remote, • Open across Europe, • Flexible project-based work, • up to €150/hour depending on experience and complexity This is particularly well suited to: • PhD candidates, • Postdocs, • Quant researchers, • Olympiad-level mathematicians, • Researchers seeking flexible parallel income, • Academics interested in frontier AI If this is you or you know somebody brilliant who lives and breathes mathematical reasoning, tag them below or message me directly.
