We are supporting a global leader in consumer goods with operations in more than 80 countries and over 150,000 employees worldwide. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Manager to join one of their largest European production sites in Southern France. Producing around 190,000 tonnes annually across more than 1,500 SKUs, this facility is a cornerstone of the business’s European supply chain. The role sits on the factory leadership team and carries responsibility for the performance, reliability, and development of all technical systems. Key Focus Areas: • Safety & Compliance - Champion site-wide compliance with hygiene, safety, and food safety standards (ISO, HACCP), while driving a culture of continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices., • Leadership & People Development - Lead, mentor, and grow a technical function of 6 direct and 32 indirect reports, building long-term capability to meet future site needs., • Maintenance & Reliability - Shape and deliver the site’s maintenance and reliability strategy to minimize planned and unplanned downtime at optimal cost., • Capital Projects - Oversee and deliver complex capital projects valued above $1M, supporting capacity expansion, refurbishment, and innovation programs., • Collaboration – Act as a key member of the factory management team, partnering with Operations, HSE, R&D, and global engineering teams to share best practices and deliver against long-term objectives. Ideal Candidate Profile: • Degree in Engineering or a related technical field., • 6–8 years’ leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting., • At least 3 years managing engineering or maintenance teams (FMCG background advantageous)., • Proven record of delivering major capital projects ($1M+)., • Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor., • Strong communicator with proven ability to engage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
