Enterprise Risk Manager The Risk team seeks to ensure that robust risk management and internal controls are delivered through the risk management framework, which forms an integral part of the firm’s decision-making. The Risk team provides independent assessment of the company’s overall risk and also provides regular reporting to both management and the Board and its committees in relation to current and emerging risks Role Specific Accountabilities • Support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and the team with interactions with key stakeholders e.g. Board, Chief Officers, Head of Departments, Company Secretary, and First Line Assurance Manager., • Collaborate with stakeholders and wider teams to embed risk culture, ensuring appropriate training requirements are identified., • Assist the CRO in evolving the risk framework in line with the Board’s expectations, • Lead/Facilitate SME workshops to build scenarios for risk stress testing, • Assist the CRO and Head of Finance in establishing the companies regulatory capital and liquidity requirements, • Support the CRO in delivering the ICARA each year, • Assist with the risk reporting, building and maintaining the corporate risk register., • Be responsible for the oversight of Enterprise risk on a day to day basis from a company perspective., • Provide 2nd line review and challenge across all risk types with the support of the Investment Risk Manager on Investment related risks, • Support the CRO in the second line oversight of Strategic Corporate change programs including attending project meetings and facilitating of risk workshops to ensure Risk Management standards are adhered to, • Support the Investment Risk Manager with second line oversight of Strategic Investment change programs including attending project meetings and facilitating of risk workshops where requested, • Support the CRO with Executive and Board level Committee paper preparation and agenda setting (predominantly ERC, CRC and BRC), • Chair the new Policy Governance Forum and maintain and manage the Policy Governance Framework, • Maintain and review the Risk Management Framework, Operational Risk Policy, Policy Governance Framework, and Risk Appetite Framework., • Facilitate Emerging Risk workshops to enable the identification, awareness and management of Emerging Risks, • Support the CRO with the oversight of reputational and conduct risk threats through the reporting process, • Support the CRO to review the Risk Functions Risk register, identify risks in own area of responsibility, recognise risks in all areas of the business and notify any such risks to your People Manager, Operational Risk Manager, and Investment Risk Manager., • Coach and provide counsel to the Investment and Operational Risk Managers on 2nd line risk and governance, • Play a leading role in the embedding of the new Enterprise-wide Risk Management System and the development of 2nd line oversight, complementing the work of the business and the First Line Assurance Manager Skills and Experience • Good report writing skills, • Strong presentation skills., • Understanding of financial capital adequacy requirement and impacts of risk., • Good knowledge of operational risk practices and industry standards., • Good understanding of risk frameworks., • Good understanding of policy writing and management processes., • Ability to challenge constructively, • High levels of integrity and trustworthiness, • Effective IT skills required for the job role, • Significant experience of financial services (preferably in the asset management sector), • Have a robust understanding of enterprise risk management policies, processes and procedures., • Good understanding of operational risk management, • Senior level experience of engagement with stakeholders, experience of delivering training and awareness About Us Border to Coast is the largest LGPS (Local Government Pension Scheme) pool in the UK.
