About the role We’re looking for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join the Butlin's Buffets Department based in Skegness. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will support the running of the kitchen and support in leading a large team of amazing chefs. As well a stepping up in the Kitchen Managers absence. You will be passionate about exceptional experience and will monitor this regularly to develop action plans in your venue with a focus on continuous improvement. Have great leadership skills to support and grow your team, with daily briefings, handle stock controlling and review the presentation of food. Financial performance will play an important part in your role, and you will deliver food cost budgets through effective menu planning, cooking to standards and specification. You will also support in the accountability of food hygiene standards and health and safety, inline with legislation and company policies. You will be a role model for the Butlin’s unique way of working, ensuring training schedules and performance development plans are in place for your team and inspiring them to deliver a great experience to guests every time. We truly believe that variety is the spice of life and in this role you’ll have the opportunity to lead and develop the skills of a team in our main buffet restaurant serving our guests who have booked a half-board dining package. We are looking for individuals with experience in a similar level role with large volume turn around. We can host for 3000 guests per service within our buffet department. So being able to work in a fast paced enviroment is a must, with good time management and organisational skills. You will need to be hard working and determined, a reliable person who likes to get things done and who will look for better ways for the team to consistently deliver our brand standards. We are looking for candidates who are energetic and enthusiastic, high spirited and fun loving and who will understand their role and the value they can add to the guest experience by unleashing the potential of the team, by being able to build and develope relationships with leaders and team on resort. You must have passed your Level 3 Food Safety qualification and be confident in leading a team to continually deliver high standards in a fast paced and busy kitchen environment. As with any chef role at this level, you will also be responsible for managing margins and controlling costs and all things health, safety and hygiene related. About The Role We’re looking for experienced Chefs to join the Butlin's Buffets team based in Skegness. As a chef your responsibilities in this role will be a key factor in our kitchens. You will be support the Junior Kitchen Manager and oversee the daily operation in your own section, ensuring efficiency and compliance with food safety policies. You will also maintain a clean and organised workstation, always adhering the health and safety regulations demonstrating these responsibilities as a behaviour standard to the Commis Chefs you will lead, train and mentor with guidance and support as needed. This is a 35 hour role, working 5 days over 7 including weekends, paid fortnightly. Breakfast shifts are 4am - 12pm Dinner shifts are 11am - 7.30pm Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the business and support the team. Live in accommodation may be available if over 18 and relocating to the area subject to a DBS check. Resort Safety Shift Manager Department: Resort Safety Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Skegness Reporting To: Richard Webber Description About the role As Resort Safety Shift Manager you will be directly leading a team of Resort Safety (Security) Team Members for a large, complex holiday destination. Carrying out tasks on shift to ensure that the allocation of team is complete to ensure the maximum positive impact on guest experience in our venues, build and develop a positive relationship with the guests. You will support the team members during the shift to ensure that their workload is manageable, giving support when necessary and feeding back to Resort Safety Managers the areas of improvement, reviewing guest feedback supplied to them to understand areas in which our guests would value improvement. You will carry out individual team member appraisals and coach and support the team during tasks to ensure we have a highly trained and fulfilled team. Your role ensures compliance with relevant legislation, company Fire, SIA, Licensing and health & safety policies within your area of responsibility and help others to challenge themselves to innovate in any areas that will help the results of the business. You will also drive team selection, recruitment, and retention with an emphasis on wellbeing. As with all roles at Butlin's, no day will be the same and you will need to enjoy thinking on your feet, getting stuck in, and ensuring that our guest experience is always your number one priority. This role will predominantly be night working (with occasional daytime working to meet business needs - such as training, recruitment etc.). Shifts can start from 16:30 and Midnight. Please Note: Applicants must hold a full, valid driving license as the role requires driving company vehicles during shifts. A valid SIA License is essential for this role, and holding a CCTV License would be preferrable. This role covers a 5-day working week over 7 days, so flexibility is very important. Key Responsibilities You must have knowledge of working in the private security industry. This role would ideally suit someone who wants to make the transition from either experienced Team Member or Supervisor who wants to take the first step into Management, or an security shift manager moving into the holiday industry. You should have previous experience in leading teams within a busy security or safety environment where a balance of quality and safety is important. You should be confident to direct and respond in any situation whilst delivering consistent brand standards. The ability to lead, motivate and engage your team, even at periods of high demand is important, as well as being able to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing requirements. The successful candidate will hold an in-date valid SIA (Door Supervision) License, and full driving license (you will be required to drive company vehicles around resort).
