The role: This role requires a compassionate and enthusiastic registered veterinary night nurse to be a part of our highly skilled and friendly team at Wolfe Vets. This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys using their initiative, working accurately and to a high standard, ensuring the best care is given to our patients and clients. Currently, the role is focussed predominantly on inpatients: delivering medication, monitoring and giving compassionate care to our hospitalised patients overnight. We also provide emergency out of hours appointments, which might include emergency surgery, imaging and admitting sick patients who require expert overnight care. We receive both internal and external referrals of patients from other independent veterinary practices across London. Over time we envisage that the emergency and critical care aspects to the role will increase to match the need of the growing clinic. Monitor grass growth, and quality, adjusting plans as required. Provide weekly sheets to outline paddock management, and communication with tractor operators on paddocks to mow and add slurry. Record plate meter recordings regularly on Agrinet.ie Calf Health and Nutrition: Be responsible for the management of calf rearing practices, ensuring the health, growth and welfare of youngstock through effective protocols. Implement, and monitor feeding programs. Management of cow colostrum with experience of store and Thaw and calf colostrum quality testing being an advantage. Monthly weighing and recording of weights are desired to meet soil association and milk supplier contracts Drive low calf mortality along with weights. Artificial Insemination: Lead AI programmes and procedures, ensuring optimal breeding success and genetic improvement. Work with external providers to ensure staff cover is supplied during staff shortages. Achieve a strong submission rate over 75%, walking cows twice a day, and driving heat detection. Hitting a pregnancy rate of close to 30% is preferred, or an empty rate of less than 10%. Ensuring cows have collars added on when entering the herd. Foot Trimming and Herd Health: Oversee regular foot trimming, lameness prevention, and foot baths, to ensure hoof health is managed effectively. Work closely with vets to maintain a comprehensive herd health plan. Record and make lists for foot trimmer on bi-weekly visits. Identify and lift lame cows promptly. Dairyland trained trimming is preferred but not essential. Winter Housing: Ensure the team are scraping the yard regularly alongside bed and lime the cubicles regularly. Delegate tasks to the team for clean water troughs and feed passageways regularly. Dairyland Initiative: Implement and promote sustainable farming practices in line with the Dairyland Initiative. Engage with the wider agricultural community to ensure the farm remains at the forefront of industry best practices. Grassland Societies, Networking and Pride of Work: Represent the farms in local farm walks, sharing knowledge and having a focus on driving staff focus. Have 'show farm pride' mentality where the farm is kept tidy for visitors. Veterinary Collaboration: Work closely with veterinary professionals to monitor and maintain the overall health and welfare of the herd. Ensure timely intervention and treatment of health issues, maintaining detailed health records. Ensure cows are vaccinated at the right time yearly and organise staff to assist with this. Systems, Data and Compliance: Use Uniform Agri software daily for herd management records, analysis and reporting. Ensure accurate completion of all farm diaries (Vet & Med, AI, NMR). The ideal candidate will have experience navigating complex data challenges in analytics-heavy industries like AgTech or HealthTech and is motivated to revolutionise the poultry sector through data science and robust platform architecture. Key Responsibilities: Engineering Excellence & Transformational Value: Drive engineering excellence by architecting robust, scalable data platforms that deliver measurable, transformational value to product outcomes in the AgTech space. Production-Grade Application Deployment: Build, maintain, and deploy production-grade commercial applications and data services that are highly available, reliable, and performant. Best-in-Class Data Engineering: Design and optimise sophisticated batch and streaming data pipelines within the Snowflake or similar Data Cloud, ensuring data integrity, quality, and accessibility for analytics and machine learning applications. MLOps Implementation & Application Engineering: Collaborate directly with machine learning engineers and production application engineers to integrate open source MLOps pipelines (CI/CD for ML) and deploy models seamlessly into production environments using specialised tools like MLflow, DVC and Feast. Advanced Data Modelling (Ontology & Knowledge Graphs): Lead the design and implementation of data ontologies and knowledge graphs using graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Neptune) to model complex biological and operational data relationships for sophisticated AI insights. We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist organisation for a part time Equine Groom & Animal Care professional to take primary responsibility for equine, farm and small animal care. This is a hands-on role working within a therapeutic and educational environment that supports children, young people and adults. The successful candidate will report day-to-day to the Land Support Manager and will play a key role in ensuring excellent standards of animal welfare, land management and safe operations across the site. Key Responsibilities This role includes, but is not limited to: • All Equine and Animal Care (routine/s training) provided including stable maintenance, enclosure repairs/risk management/stock control etc, • This role holds responsibility for equine and animal care and welfare, so you must have experience working with horses to include but not limited to: mucking out, leading, grooming, hoof picking, muck picking, rugging and fitting fly masks depending on seasons, general yard management and maintenance, • Regular Animal welfare health check and monitoring, administrating medication when required or seeking line management and or professional veterinary advice where directed and follow up, • Land and Buildings support and maintenance for Equine and Animal Zones including yard and barn management, • Animal enrichment projects, • Support for Land Projects as and where authorised and agreed.
