Finance Manager Location: LiverpoolSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 DOEJob Type: Full time / Permanent / On-siteReporting to: Managing DirectorResponsible for: Bookkeeper About the Company & Role The company sits within the manufacturing sector, and specialises in the production of a range of bespoke, high-end products and services to the commercial catering sector. This role sits at the top of their finance department, and is a mix of month-end reporting, strategic analysis, and financial insight delivery to Directors, as well as getting involved with the daily operations such as bank recs, VAT, cashflow, and management accounts - so it is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the finance function and having a hands-on impact. Key Responsibilities • Complete monthly bank reconciliations in a timely manner, ensuring all transactions are accurately allocated and fully understood., • Produce weekly and monthly management reports to support informed decision-making., • Prepare and process bank payment runs, including full reconciliation., • Maintain accurate ledgers in Sage for both management accounts and statutory reporting requirements., • Oversee and support the bookkeeper, ensuring day-to-day transactional work is completed accurately and in line with deadlines., • Manage credit control activities, including debtor chasing, resolving outstanding queries, and escalating issues when required to ensure timely collection., • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines., • Process creditor payments promptly while actively managing daily cashflow requirements., • Work closely with internal teams to resolve credit control matters, reduce debtor days, and support strong working capital performance., • Support Directors with month-end reporting, analysis, and ad-hoc finance tasks., • Experience in a similar role., • Advanced Excel and Sage experience., • Confident managing daily finance operations and month-end processes., • Strong bank reconciliations, ledgers, VAT returns, cash flow management, and credit control skills., • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills., • Able to communicate clearly with directors and non-finance teams., • 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays (2 weeks Christmas shutdown included), • Company events
