An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a successful group of companies that's experiencing steady year-on-year growth, where your expertise will play a key role in overseeing daily finance operations, supporting informed decision making, and leading a small finance team. \n What’s in it for you? \n\n • Work hours: Monday to Friday – 9am – 5pm\n, • Salary: £33,000 to £35,000\n, • 28 days Holiday including Bank Holidays\n, • Company pension scheme\n, • On site parking\n, • Training opportunities and job development\n\n Finance Officer Responsibilities: \n\n • Take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial operations across the entire group\n, • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and work with external accountants to produce annual accounts\n, • Formulate annual budgets for each department and work with Managers to ensure budgets are adhered to throughout the year\n, • Manage cash flow planning and forecasting\n, • Control overall expenditure, which includes managing insurance policies, utilities, staffing, and general operational costs, and actively identify savings to increase overall company profitability\n, • Implement robust financial controls and processes, ensuring they are followed by the finance team and each department head\n, • Keep the Managing Director informed of all financial operations and produce in-depth monthly reports\n, • Oversee a small finance team, offering your support and guidance across all areas of finance including accounts payable, ledgers, payroll, and bookkeeping\n\n Finance Officer Skills and Experience: \n\n • Proven experience in a Senior Bookkeeper, Management Accountant, or Finance Lead role, with a hands-on approach to day-to-day finance\n, • Strong all-round financial operations experience, including bookkeeping, ledgers, payroll, planning and forecasting\n, • Confident producing monthly management accounts and translating numbers into meaningful insights\n, • Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to produce clear reports that support informed decision-making\n, • Experience leading or supervising a small finance team, acting as a supportive mentor and point of guidance\n, • Commercially minded, highly numerate and naturally detail-focused\n, • ACCA, CIMA, or AAT Level 4 qualifications would be advantageous, though practical experience is equally valued\n\n \n
