About The Role We are looking for a skilled and reliable Bank Sous Chef to support our kitchen teams across two of our sites. This is a flexible, bank position ideal for an experienced chef who enjoys variety, thrives in fast-paced environments, and takes pride in delivering consistently high standards. You will work closely with our Head Chefs and kitchen teams, stepping in as needed to maintain smooth operations, food quality, and compliance. Key Responsibilities • Work closely alongside the Head Chef and kitchen staff to plan and prepare nutritious meals for residents, • Ensure food is prepared in line with IDDSI guidelines and meets the requirements of the residents as identified by the clinical team, • Ensure food hygiene, health & safety, and COSHH standards are met, • Maintain consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control, • Support stock control, deliveries, and minimising waste, • Lead and motivate kitchen teams in the absence of senior chefs, • Adapt quickly to different kitchen setups and teamsAbout You, • Six Months Kitchen Experience (required), • Care Home experience (preferred), • IDDSI/Specialist diet provision experience (desirable), • Experience working in a care home (desirable), • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal), • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance, • Calm under pressure with excellent organisational skills, • Flexible, dependable, and professional in approach, • A passion for great food and high standards, • Understanding of COSHH, Food Hygiene and Regulations surrounding food safetyWhat We Offer, • Flexible bank shifts to suit your availability, • Competitive hourly rate, • Opportunity to work across diverse kitchens and menus, • Supportive teams and professional working environments Benefits package worth up to £5,000 • Subsidised lunch available daily, • Free DBS and parking, • Full range of courses provided by the company, • Paid for e-learning and training, • Refer a friend scheme – up to £1,000 (depending on role), • Access to Blue Light card - over 13,000 discounts*subject to terms and conditions About The Company Cornerstone Healthcare Group are a multi award-winning, sector leader with an innovative approach to complex care Cornerstone specialise in supporting adults of all ages with complex neurological, physical, and mental health needs.
