We're looking for a Welding Team Leader to join a busy manufacturing environment in Mid-Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MIG/TIG/Laser welder to combine their technical expertise with team leadership and continuous improvement. \n \n You'll play a key role in keeping the welding operation running safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standards, while coaching and developing a skilled, multi-disciplined team. \n \n What you'll be doing \n \n\n • Lead, motivate and support a team of welders to achieve production and quality targets.\n, • Allocate daily workloads and monitor progress against project schedules.\n, • Provide hands-on coaching, feedback and technical support to team members.\n, • Act as the first point of contact for welding-related technical issues.\n, • Interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, specifications and procedures.\n, • Carry out in-process inspections and final quality checks.\n, • Ensure welding activities comply with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.\n, • Promote excellent standards of PPE, equipment use and safe working practices.\n, • Support incident investigations and corrective actions where required.\n, • Drive Lean, 5S, Kaizen and other continuous improvement initiatives.\n, • Lead problem-solving and root-cause analysis activities.\n, • Help standardise processes and contribute to SOP improvements.\n\n \n What we're looking for \n \n Essential: \n\n • Proven experience as a professional welder, ideally with MIG, TIG and/or laser joining processes.\n, • Previous experience of leading, mentoring or supervising others\n, • Strong understanding of welding symbols and procedures.\n, • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.\n, • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles.\n, • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.\n, • Welding and fabrication qualifications.\n, • Training in 5S, Lean, Six Sigma or similar CI methodologies.\n\n \n Desirable: \n\n • Experience with robotic or automated welding systems.\n, • Knowledge of weld inspection equipment and methodologies.\n, • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) qualification.\n, • First Aid or other relevant H&S certification.\n\n \n\n • 7:00am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday\n, • Salary 35k-40k\n\n
