FMCG / Manufacturing experience in a Maintenance Engineering Position is essential for this role Role: Project Engineer Location: Andover, Hampshire Shift: Mon - Fri days only Salary: Up to £55,000 Additional: 5% matched pension, 5% annual bonus, x3 salary death in service + £3k per annum DEVELOPMENT ALLOWANCE Descprition Are you a time-served Maintenance Engineer with some exposure to projects, reliability projects, process improvement or machinery installations looking to take the next step in your career? I’m working with a well-established manufacturing business who are looking to appoint a Project Engineer to support ongoing site investment and improvement activity. This role is ideal for someone who has had some exposure to projects but is looking to build a stronger foundation and develop long-term within this space. The Role This is a Hands-on Project-focussed engineering role with a clear pathway into project delivery. You’ll be involved in supporting and delivering a range of site-based projects, while still utilising your maintenance engineering background. Responsible for: • Supporting the planning, installation and commissioning of new equipment, • Working closely with engineering and operations teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently, • Coordinating contractors and ensuring work is completed to standard, on time and within budget, • Assisting with documentation, drawings and project updates, • Identifying opportunities to improve site performance, reliability and processes, • Contributing to continuous improvement and future investment plans This is not a purely desk-based role, you’ll be on the ground, involved in delivery, gaining real project experience. What We’re Looking For • Time-served apprenticeship (essential), • Background as a Maintenance Engineer (electrical, mechanical or multi-skilled), • MUST HAVE ELECTRICAL QUALIFICATION, • Previous exposure to projects, reliability, process improvement, or installations, • Strong hands-on engineering capability, • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, • Good communication and organisational skills, • Experience within food, FMCG or manufacturing environments is advantageous Why Apply? • Clear pathway into a Project Engineering career, • £3k development budget per annum, for you to choose courses and pathways of how you wish to develop with City & Guilds recognised courses, Prince 2 or more, • Opportunity to gain hands-on project experience, • Join a business investing in site and equipment improvements, • Stable, long-term opportunity within a growing manufacturing environment, • Salary up to £55,000 This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who wants to move away from purely reactive maintenance and develop a career in projects, while still staying close to the shop floor.
