Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS, Consultancy) \nLocation: Newcastle\nSalary: £55,000 - £65,000 basic salary (depending on level of experience) \n\nSeeking a PQS Quantity Surveyor to work on a variety of projects in the real estate sector (public and private sector; higher education, regeneration, PBSA, BTR, commercial and retail, some infrastructure!).\n\nA leading global construction and property consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Newcastle team. They are committed to giving back whilst also offering variety of work and long terms career progression through to Partner. \n\nAbout the Role\nWorking in a collaborative team environment you’ll play a key role in day to day project delivery—managing operational tasks, coordinating teams, maintaining documentation and ensuring high standards throughout the project lifecycle. This role suits someone ambitious, client focused and eager to grow into a future leadership position. \nCurrent Key Project Areas & Focus for the Newcastle office: \n•\tMixed Use & Residential: Large scale developments such as a 500+ bed high-rise city centre scheme.\n•\tCommercial & Retail: Major £16m city centre development.\n•\tPBSA: Supporting significant schemes student accommodation redevelopment in the city centre.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nProcurement – leading on procurement strategies e.g. NEC3/4 contracts and conducting market engagement. \n•\tPreparing tender documents, leading evaluations, and finalising contract agreements.\n•\tEngaging with stakeholders, and report writing.\nPost Contract Management\n•\tCost reporting, cashflow forecasting, and financial analysis.\n•\tNegotiate and agree final accounts.\nCost Planning & Estimating\n•\tDeveloping budgets and monitoring cost control throughout\n•\tProducing cost estimates, cost plans, and benchmarking assessments.\n•\tTest market rates, and maintain reliable cost data.\nRisk Management\n•\tIdentify, assess and mitigate project risks.\n\nSkills & Experience\n•\tMRICS desirable but training support available.\n•\tDegree qualified in a construction related discipline; consultancy and built environment experience strongly preferred.\n•\tPre and post contract experience on high value projects, with strong client facing skills and commercial awareness.\n•\tExcellent communicator with a proactive attitude, effective stakeholder coordination skills, and a commitment to delivering high quality client service.\n\nHit ‘Apply Now’ to send your CV or feel free to reach out to me directly (url removed) if you have any queries/ seeking some advice on your next career move in cost consultancy
