Full job description Nursery Manager – Little Twisters Day Nursery Work Location – In person Reports to: Nursery Directors Little Twisters Day Nursery is seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager. Little Twisters is a 70-place setting based in the same building as Round the Twist soft play, close to the Rising Sun country park. Established in 2012 the nursery has developed and become a well-loved environment committed to ensuring every child receives the best start in life. We are looking for a confident individual to inspire and demonstrate strong leadership as well as deliver a hands-on approach. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care, education and safety while fostering a positive and supportive team culture. Your main responsibilities will be to: · To understand and implement statutory welfare requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, ensuring policies are implemented and adhered to at all times. · To contribute to the strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation and development of the nursery. · Manage of staff recruitment and retention. · Ensure the suitability and wellbeing of adults caring for children. · To be responsible for monitoring and organising training to for staff and students employed by Little Twisters. · Develop an ambitious curriculum that inspires learning and discovery, monitoring children’s progression through observation and professional discussion with key staff. · To be responsible for admissions in line with the admissions policy. · To ensure all other legal responsibilities are implemented and adhered to at all times. · Work in partnership with parents and carers recognising that parents are their children’s first educators, and encourage parental involvement in the nursery. · Have sound understanding of local safeguarding procedures and act on these accordingly. · Support parents and adults caring for children with emerging needs according to the graduated approach. · Work in partnership with other early years professionals and outside agencies. · Supervise and carry out on-going health and safety and maintenance of the nursery, toys and equipment. Working hours · Nursery operates 51 weeks per year, Monday to Friday, 7.00am - 18.30pm · Permanent, Full time 40 hour week Requirements · Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years · Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within an Early Years setting · Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework · Confident and supportive leadership style · Commitment to professional development and best practice · A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children · Enhanced DBS (being on the update service is an advantage) · Strong organisational and customer-service skills Desirable · Early Years Level 5 or Level 6 qualification · SENCO qualification · NTSCP safeguarding training · Paediatric First Aid · DBS – update service What we offer · Competitive salary starting at £45,000 with a raise following six month preliminary period (negotiable) · Opportunities for professional development · Employee discount · On-site parking Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Benefits: • Childcare, • Cycle to work scheme, • Discounted or free food, • Employee discount, • Free parking, • On-site parking Education: • A-Level or equivalent (required)
