As an Associate Director Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for delivering work driven by excellence - and doing the right thing. We have a reputation for working on some of the UK's most high-profile commissions across a wide range of projects and sectors, including public sector, education, corporate real estate, retail, residential, aviation, and defence. As well as building long-term, sustainable relationships with key clients, you'll also be a catalyst for your colleagues' career progression. Your purpose: The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate experience of leading consultancy teams and should possess skills in the following areas: • Public Sector experience is essential., • Managing and delivering a procurement and commercial consultancy services., • Embed high quality processes and tools to improve performance., • Contribute to business development and business growth., • Ability to lead, inspire and develop a team of talented individuals., • Experience of key client account management., • Strong experience in both pre and post contract cost management services., • Provide leadership to the team to promote technical excellence in procurement., • Embedding a quality service to reduce costs, increase performance and improve client feedback metrics with the aim to secure repeat business., • Take ownership of account management., • Attend sector led events locally and nationally to promote the AtkinsRealis business., • Work closely with colleagues across all service lines to identify opportunities to cross-sell complementary services., • Developing and maintaining our reputation through developing business opportunities., • Ensure the quality and timeliness of service delivery to our clients, acting as primary interface to help build client confidence., • Act as the lead for commercial services multi-disciplinary teams and reviewing and reporting on all aspects of project within our portfolio., • You will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administration of project accounts and the management of internal job costings in relation to the fee and services and resource requirements., • Able to work independently within a multidisciplinary team across various locations., • You will be responsible for writing, editing and preparing client reports as well as reviewing commercial situation and advising the client accordingly., • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level quantity surveyors, supporting their APC progression and professional growth., • Lead internal project reviews, resource planning, and performance management., • Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (or equivalent)., • Extensive experience in preparing estimates for property related developments., • Experience in preparing tender and contract documentation., • Experience of successfully interfacing with clients at senior level., • Good communication skills with ability to prepare and edit written reports., • Good presentation skills with ability to advise senior representatives of client organisations on key issues., • A practical understanding of construction risk and commercial management., • A sound technical quantity surveying knowledge demonstrating established experience and ability., • Experience of managing project commercial teams and supporting other colleagues., • Able to demonstrate effective and efficient post-contract administration., • Knowledge and understanding of the key commercial issues relating to works delivered in both the private and public sector., • IT skills, such as Office, Outlook, BIM / CAD measure, Cost Planning software e.g. Cost-X., • Good organisational skills., • Self-motivation and keen to become an integral office team member., • An ability to make you own informed decisions and work unsupervised when necessary. We are currently looking to recruit a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to work on our varied project portfolio across the education/residential/commercial/aviation & hotel property sectors. Your Purpose: • Reporting into the Head of Cost Management leadership team, you will be a member of the Project Controls management team responsible for building long term, sustainable team relationships with both members of our own organisation, and wider Client base., • Support our Cost Management capability including development and use of Power-BI, PRISM, Oracle, Deltek, Ecosys and other Cost Management related software., • Engage our community of practice and support technical excellence, service innovation and development of our benchmarking capabilities., • Deliver excellent client service on our commissions through quality assurance and regular client care., • A Cost Management or Quantity Surveying Qualification or similar., • Minimum of three years post graduate experience., • Commercial, quantity surveying, and/or finance skills, with working knowledge of the construction industry, and experience of working with NEC form of contract., • Technical experience in Cost Management services across complex infrastructure, in particular water., • An understanding of industry benchmarks / best practices, Cost and Work Breakdown Structures, and methods of measurements., • Growing network within the infrastructure sector., • An aptitude to apply innovation, technical excellence, and exceptional service delivery., • Experience of monitoring, analysing, and controlling cost performance against set targets., • Examples of identifying/applying cost efficient solutions., • Awareness of the challenges and opportunities in the industry., • Support with delivering the strategy for the Cost Management Service including identifying continuous development., • Deliver an exceptional cost management service for multiple stakeholders., • Identify opportunities for growth, linked to the Complex Infrastructure business strategy, • Ensure appropriate engagement with the wider AtkinsRéalis business, as determined by the strategy., • Support with the Cost Management business development activity., • Opportunities to Support Key Account Management activities., • Engagement and understanding of internal business processes., • Having responsibility, under minimum supervision, delivering portfolios and projects., • Be the ambassador for AtkinsRéalis, your profession and the professional institution to which you belong., • Supporting with technical advice to different stakeholders., • Actively broaden your experience and expertise in line with the core competencies., • Have a developing knowledge of legal and technical matters relevant to the work you do, and the law of the region or country in which you practice., • Participating in relevant internal/external training initiatives., • Applying the concepts of quality assurance and environmental management., • Helping grows our service and sector-focussed teams., • Actively engaging within a project delivery environment.
