JobTitle: Modern Workplace Specialist Reporting To: Modern Workplace Team Lead Working Hours: 37.5 Location: Hybrid – Group Support, Lichfield Role Overview and Purpose A Modern Workplace Specialist at Voyage Care is a hands-on technical professional, responsible for participating in designing, implementing, and supporting Modern Workplace technologies across the organisation. This role will assist in driving the digital transformation journey, enabling productivity, collaboration, and secure communication for Voyage Care’s workforce. The specialist will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, promoting best practices for cloud adoption, security, change management, and employee engagement through innovative use of Microsoft 365 platforms and related tools. Reporting to the Modern Workplace Team Lead, the Modern Workplace Specialist collaborates with business stakeholders, IT teams, and end users to analyse current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver solutions that align with Voyage Care’s strategic objectives. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. With a keen focus on operational excellence and user experience, the specialist acts as a catalyst for change, supporting Voyage Care’s mission to deliver quality care through technology. Key Responsibilities • Microsoft 365 Management: Assist in configuring, maintaining, and optimising Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business. As Microsoft release other services, these new services may be deemed as in scope., • End User Support: Provide support to end users, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring seamless operation of Microsoft Modern Workplace tools., • Microsoft Autopilot Management: Assist in the configuration and ongoing maintenance of Microsoft Autopilot to streamline the setup and deployment of new equipment, ensuring devices are provisioned efficiently and consistently with organisational standards. We also utilise Autopilot as a key option in the support and re-provisioning of end user devices, enabling rapid, secure onboarding and lifecycle management for both new and existing hardware., • Device Management: Support the management of devices using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) and ensure compliance with organisational policies., • Package and configure and software applications for deployment to end users. These packages must be kept up to date, and where possible delivered in such a way that ensures this is automated., • Security and Compliance: Assist in implementing and monitoring security measures across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments to safeguard data and ensure compliance with industry standards., • Collaboration Solutions: Assist in developing and maintaining solutions that enhance collaboration and productivity using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other Microsoft tools., • Azure Integration: Manage Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows Virtual Desktop deployments, and associated storage architecture, hybrid integrations, and innovative use of Azure services in conjunction with Microsoft 365 platforms., • Azure Integration: Occasionally work on Azure cloud projects, including setting up virtual machines, managing storage solutions, and integrating Azure services with Microsoft 365., • Mobile Device Management: Support the administration of Android mobile phones—particularly Samsung devices—using Samsung Knox management applications to ensure security, compliance, and efficient deployment of organisational policies., • Apple iOS Device Support: Manage and support Apple iOS devices across the organisation, leveraging Apple Business Manager to streamline device enrolment, configuration, and deployment of mobile applications. Ensure devices are compliant with company policies and integrated effectively with Modern Workplace solutions., • BYOD Implementation and Support: Assist in the deployment and ongoing support of a secure Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative at Voyage Care, working collaboratively with colleagues in your team, the wider IT department, and stakeholders across the business to ensure robust security, compliance, and seamless integration of personal devices into the organisational environment., • Education: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is desirable., • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Teams Administrator Associate, Security Administrator Associate, or equivalent are highly desirable. Essential Attributes • Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration, Azure cloud services, and endpoint management tools like Intune.4 Demonstrable experience in deploying and managing Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace solutions., • Coding and Scripting: Knowledge and ability to code or script solutions to automate processes and improve efficiency., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently., • Innovative Thinking: Ability to propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance workplace efficiency., • Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and regulatory requirements in the care sector., • Customer Orientation: A strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service and user experience., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time and priorities effectively., • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with emerging technologies.
