This is a long-term engagement for a hands-on database engineer who excels in optimisation, compliance, and resilience planning. Key Responsibilities • Design, optimise, and maintain PostgreSQL databases for scalability and performance, • Implement and monitor access controls, encryption, and auditing in line with company standards, • Manage automated backups, restores, and disaster recovery strategies, • Proactively monitor system health and performance using PostgreSQL and AWS-native tools, • Apply patches and manage version upgrades for managed AWS PostgreSQL instances, • Identification & resolution of bottlenecks Required Skills & Experience • Proven track record as a PostgreSQL DBA or Database Engineer, • Deep understanding of schema design, performance tuning, query optimisation, and indexing, • Hands-on AWS RDS experience, • Solid knowledge of backup, recovery, and monitoring tools, • Familiarity with implementing access controls, encryption, and security auditing principles, • Active SC clearance and eligibility for NPPV3
